I have uBlockOrigin installed so I don't see any of these ads, but if one must have ads then they need to be the non-intrusive kind(not flashy banners, pop-ups, or video). These intrusive ads will only rub users the wrong way. The site might also think about adding a PayPal where one can donate to the site instead of intrusive ads.

Came to find this thread and wasn't disappointed with what I found. The intrusive ads are truly horrific and I'd stop visiting the site if I wasn't able to turn them off. Poor form, guys. Poor form.

Don't have anything to add that hasn't been said yet but I love (LOVE) this site and wish there was a way to support it (in addition to buying from Amazon through the links) while disabling these ads. Just wanted to add my opinion to the groundswell forming. It isn't a knock on the site, but just a wish for a less-intrusive ad-based option.

I can never remember my sign in details, so for years I have always browsed without signing in. If they don't get rid of these horrendous adverts, then I too am unlikely to continue using the site.

Loved this site...but these adds...Im done.

Utter trash... you should make enough off links to keep the site going. This is greed, and your members are paying the price.

When I say "literally" I mean this website is literally not usable on my phone today. Even if I managed to click that microscopic "X" in the upper right corner of the James Bond video, it was not possible to pinch and zoom any page to be able to read. If I attempt to zoom in, it just snaps back to fullscreen with tiny unreadable font. Maybe I need new firmware on my phone to handle those insane video pop ups of James Bond.

My heart sank when I saw it pop up on every single click of every single link of this website when browsing on the PC. Thank God it can be turned off.

I don't mind the banner ads or any ads built in to the page. If the video pop ups come back on every single page and can't be turned off I'm done using blu-ray.com forever.

Have to agree with the majority, these ads are way way too intrusive when trying to browse, that damn James Bond appeared every few seconds.

It's annoying that I will now have to sign in couple of hours every time just to dodge them as like others, I like to browse the site on different devices without signing in.

Please fix this if the mods are reading.

Previously, I had let the ads run because I thought it might be beneficial to the site. However, I finally disabled ads (before I saw this thread) when I was assaulted by multiple popovers this morning. I'm glad we are provided with the option to disable them.

When I buy a movie on Amazon, I do it through the affiliate links. So, I feel like I'm doing my part to support the site.

Bloody hell, which muppet decided that was a good idea?

I found the option to switch them off, well I think I have as they appear to have stopped.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

We went live with the new ads today. Lets just say that this is something that we're working on addressing.

I'll gladly put back ads as long as they don't bombard the page especially the popup ones.

To add to the pile of complaints, talk about making me not want to visit the site anymore. That video trailer popping up every single time I navigated anywhere was beyond annoying, not to mention I have a tendency to open up multiple tabs at once and then having them all play while out of sync almost did my head in. Thankfully the option to disable the ads was there. I'll gladly return to letting ads do their thing to support the site once this new ad issue is rectified.

*edit*
Thankfully @Marwin has already read some of the feedback and noticed the issue at hand for all of us so hopefully we'll have a better situation soon.

Thanks for those posting that the ads could be turned off. I thought I was just going to have to quit frequenting this site as the experience was unbearable.

The ads really bothered me when I was on my phone. They kept popping up where I set my finger. So I’m happy to be able to turn them off!

Holy crap! These ads are awful. I get that you have to make money, but have some empathy for the members.

I know right!

And same, having used the amazon associate scheme myself, I imagine I’ve contributed quite a few pennies over the past few years
