I’m curious, in what way did you get burned. WB was upfront that there would be an “Ultimate” edition at a later date.

It’s not like there’s much they can do with the masters since they’re coming from 2K DIs.

Y’all acting like $200-250 is too much for this set. Compared to the $800 last set released, this is cheap.

Your sword sir. $150. Now you can just buy the other 4 box sets and have your wish.

I am certainly qualified to confirm that this set will fit on the custom built shelf that I have yet to construct for it. I am in the process of acquiring quite a large assortment of oversized mega boxsets ATM just for this new shelf of mine.

Plus, sell off the digital copies and shave $20 or more off the price.

Would you instead be satisfied with a 1:1 replica of Sting (the singer) ?

I don't know, I'm afraid Warner might release a set with the other members of The Police shortly after.

Usually people with the 4K have one or more of these problems with it:
-DNR
-Someone promised this would be sourced from a 4K scan of the OCN and film outs when that was untrue
-Alterations correcting flubs, color timing, flash-backs, etc.

All I know is y’all are all kidding yourselves if you think this set is gonna be remastered again (the 4Ks, not the Blu-ray’s which we know will be remastered) and is gonna include “all” of the previously released extras in addition to whatever the new stuff is gonna be. Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m just saying a lot of folks are gonna be disappointed as hell when the actual announcement drops. I have the theatrical Blu-ray’s. I have the extended Blu-ray’s. I went ahead and bought the steelbook 4Ks last Xmas. I decided then that with all of the hours upon hours upon hours upon hours of BTS already released, I just can’t imagine there’s anything left to sweeten the pot with. But to each his own, of course.

There are a lot of deleted scenes that have never been released, like the full Two Watchers sequence, and epilogues of Legolas and Gimli. I don’t have high hopes they will be included in this set but it’s mainly what’s made me hold off buying the regular 4K.

I don’t see them doing new transfers for the 4K. What they put out already is the best we will be getting for a while.

I can already tell this is going to be as overpriced as that stupid edition with the shelf.

Then I'll buy it. Not likely to happen. So I'll hold out for the new 4K remaster which includes the above hopefully coming sometime.
