Right on. If you haven't watched their other film, Turbo Kid, you should get to it as soon as you can. It's ridiculously cool and even more awesome than Summer of '84. It's streaming on Shudder right now.

Got my copy last Black Friday and can’t recommend it enough. Awesome film and great packaging.

I want to buy this, but I’m just scared that it’s a one and done movie…. And not sure of the re-watch-ability of it. I love the packaging, but I feel like it’ll just sit on my shelf.

Vibe and score has me wanting to rewatch it as it starts to get warm out and I had just watched it a few months ago so there may be some rewatchability there

Looks fantastic. Vinegar Syndrome IMO are underdogs delivering knock out transfers.

The music on this is cool.

Forgot to mention that ending was disappointing and open ended as if they wanted a sequel which looks high likely. Such a shame as the movie was decent with some super cool music and that 80s style vibe.

The picture was demo worthy. HDR was excellent. The true winner is the music.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think VS had anything to do with this transfer.

No idea. It's from Gunpowder and Sky so they get the first dibs. If someone else did it then whoever it is, job well done.

To me, the ending was the best part of the movie. Very haunting... unless they screw it up by making a sequel. "open-ended" shouldn't always mean a sequel is coming. I truly hope it doesn't happen.

Watched it the other night and thought it looked great. I thought that the HDR grade looked fab. A lot of scenes featuring flashlights and dimly lit rooms with lamps/lights in this flick and they really pop over the standard Blu-ray.
I didn't even realize this title was out on disc and having HDR. I've only ever watched the iTunes 4k SDR version. Bought it and should get it in tomorrow.

Just watched this for the first time. I enjoyed it. The third act was terrific. Very suspenseful and tension filled. Rich Sommer was great. Can't decide if I want to own it yet though. Not sure of it's replay value. It's a really good one timer at the very least though. Would make a great double feature with The Black Phone.

I was on the fence about purchasing based on rewatchability but took the plunge when it was offered for $18 during the recent VS summer sale. First saw it streaming on Shudder (decent, but no great, quality) a couple of years ago but still really enjoyed rewatching it in 4K with HDR. It is in some ways stronger and other ways weaker than I remember it, but as okayflint mentions above, the vibe and score make me think I'll be likely to revisit this one at the beginning of summer next year.

Link is in French, but the director was arrested for sexual assault of two minors, ages 9 and 11:

They removed him from the collective. What a sick ****. I was just about to buy Summer of '84 too.
