It says on this site that the box is Region B locked. So unless you have a blu-ray player that can play all regions you can't just import it.

You're obviously unfamiliar with Imprint, who are located in Region B. So with this being limited pre-release info, this site defaults to their region in the description. Thus far their releases have been region free though. You won't find a region code mentioned here, and they often don't list one on the packaging either. There's no reason to expect these will be region locked.

But the film is part of a nearly 200 dollar set. So, to say that the film is "easily obtainable" because it is part of a limited addition 180 dollar set... I can't say that we agree on that.

The film in question was set to get a release from Kino and then the rug gets pulled right out from in under folks who were anticipating this release.

One Foul Mood. There could still be a US release though.

I do find it pretty odd, where Sony is like "Here ya go" and gives Kino the movie. Then they go "Actually, nope! You can't have it!" This isn't a Django situation where the rights of the film are in question. It just seems very strange that Sony wouldn't know if they had already licensed it or not. What's also strange is that Kino said Sony might release it themselves which makes it seem like they didn't license it out. I don't know, but this has been pretty weird.

If Sony owns this film, then it seems likely that the Kino release is probably not happening because of Sony. Which I blame them. Not Imprint.

This isn't the only movie that Sony took back from Kino from what the Insider said. I just think their licensing agreement/package was changed for whatever reason, but it's not specific to One False Move.

This is what I'm curious about and that something would change mid deal. You would think that once the contract is signed, there is no reneging of titles unless Kino wasn't happy with masters or something along those lines? Well, One False Move seems to be free to be licensed in Australia, so as you said, it's something bigger than just this one title.

I'm sure it happens all the time. We know titles that Kino have announced from other studios like MGM, and Universal have wound up being cancelled for one reason or another. As for Sony, they've done similar things with Twilight Time too. Panic Room, and I think some others seemed like done deal, but then never materialized.

Yeah, Panic Room is another title that seemingly is going to get a release but then gets yanked back.

$180 AU, so like $120 US. You'd be happier if it was in a $120 US box set?

And rights issues happen. Not the first time, won't be the last. So again, I'd think people would be happy its coming out somewhere, and revel in that instead of complaining that it was pulled and isn't coming out at all.

It says nothing of the sort on the actual company's site.

Why would you trust this site when you can take 5 seconds to go to the real website? I believe all (or most) of Imprint's releases are region-free.

You're welcome. You can shelf that complaint.

I'm good with a single release of One False Move. That's all I was arguing over. Not the set as a whole.

It seems reasonable to me that one wouldn't want to pay 120 bucks to get one movie they want from a box set nobody asked for.

We all have our limits, but I don't think a single release of this film is too much to ask for. Even if it's barebones.

I'm sure it will get a release at some point. Kino made it seem like either Sony or another label will release it. The big question is when?

hope Indicator has it, itd be nice if they inked a Sony deal in both regions

Outside of boutique labels, the catalogue title market is non-existent in Australia unless they are major films. I can’t even recall the last time Sony (Universal Sony in Australia) released a minor catalogue title on Blu-ray here without a 4K tie-in or a sequel tie-in.

So yeah, Sony might want to release this themselves in the US, but such a release wouldn’t come to Oz. Perish a thought for us Australians who have to import and deal with Region A-locked catalogue titles on a regular basis, we get so very little in the way of wins here.

Yeah i want a single release of it too. Not interested in that box-set even if it is all-region because i've seen most of the other movies on it.

Been mulling on it for a while and just decided to buy the After Dark set from Imprint. Mostly for One False Move, of course, but quite looking forward to After Dark, My Sweet as well. Been meaning to watch it for a while

My After Dark set arrived yesterday and I've been digging through all the films the past couple days. I just finished One False Move and am very pleased with the transfer. It's an older scan but still looks pretty nice.

This is an awesome set! Every film that's included is rock solid IMO. Rush (1991) is my favorite in the set.
