Interesting list. Is there any context for it? Tootsie is the only film included from 1974-2007, so I'm assuming he opted not to include films during his big Hollywood run for whatever reason. That would explain the omission of some of the biggest films of the last 50 years or so, the most glaring of which is probably Star Wars or anything by Scorsese. I guess he felt he couldn't be subjective due to his friendships, competitors, etc?

Exactly. Where they went wrong is calling it Spielberg's "20 favorite films of all time", when it's nothing of the sort. It would've been much more honest to say "20 films Steven Spielberg likes".
