[Show spoiler]Gotta agree there. I especially don't want Gale showing up. She was only ever tolerable because of her relationship with Dewey. Without him, Gale can just be the first kill, or not in the movie, thanks.

Now we need a lone psycho with no motive. And in the final scene will not say: "I did it because ... blah, blah".

The murders should be in the style of the slasher The Prowler (1981) and the suspense should be like in Black Christmas (1974).

I want to see a Scream movie where there are two killers and the protagonists kill one of them halfway through the movie and spend the rest of the movie trying to figure out who the other one is. Both Ghostfaces' always last till the end. Maybe even half the POV be from the other killer and be about them trying to cover their tracks.

I also like the original idea for Scream 5 where 2 killers compete/go after one another.

Have there always been two killers in every movie in the franchise?

Scream 6 should have a gang of killers. Have it to where the audience has no idea, and just assume the usual. Have the beginning be another kill attempt, but is thwarted by the police who arrest and unmask him. So that gives a plot thread where another master plan could be exposed when they question the suspect, so he is "silenced" in his holding cell.

Meanwhile we have an ensemble cast, including the victim in the beginning, except they find out she was killed along with her parents the night she came home from the police station even though they have the attacker in jail. So it suggests there are definitely two killers.... but wait, another murder happened around the same time the suspect was found dead. The body count becomes like a plague, as the whole town of Woodsboro is under attack seemingly by a cult like ghostface murder squad(again unbeknownst to the audience and the characters). Like The Thing, paranoia becomes rampant, suspects and red herrings become blurry, and this time... there are no rules. The mystery big reveal wouldn't just be who the killer is, but the reveal that there were many involved. I just feel like they need to raise the stakes and change the game by upping the danger and put side the meta formula. Have it be "shit, we can't figure out the cinematic relevance or the rules to this game... how can we stop this?".

I'd call it either Scream: ECHOES or SCREAMS as a play on Aliens.

I think they should make the voice be the original original killer who mentored the killer from 3 gave him the voice recorder with his voice on it and end the series like that. yeah I know that’s meta beyond but the series is dumb with the meta stuff at this point that this would be most mad insane way to end the franchise though without
[Show spoiler]Dewey
it wouldn’t be as great without
[Show spoiler]that character finding out the reason the killing happened.

I had similar ideas. My thought is have a cult of killers. Obviously, it would need a huge cast though.

Regardless of what they do, I want a really cracking ending, harking back to the last really good one (Scream 2)

Kevin Williamson had an idea of a group of killers for Scream 3 with Stu running the show from prison. If I remember what I read, it had an April Fool’s type ending as the big reveal too.

I’d like to see some version of this used in a future sequel. I definitely think its time to switch up the # of killers, maybe go to just 1 like in S3.

Ok, I'll bite, but if one of the killers is
[Show spoiler]a tiny teen girl capable of fighting and killing much stronger older men
again I'll consider this franchise effectively dead and buried.

Off topic, but I watched a 90s dtv thriller called Sketch Artist II with Courtney Cox who gives a really good performance as a blind woman. Kind of wish she'd done more under the radar roles like that after she found huge success with Friends and Scream.

5 was terrible and a complete rehash of 4. There's even less to say now after doing reboots TWICE, and now we're down an original cast member. Not excited for this.

After 5 the only thing that could get me interested is for the killer to be revealed as Wes Craven risen from the grave to take revenge on the makers of rotten sequels.

If Courteney Cox has any more plastic surgery she won't need a mask to look like ghostface

I like it, but Kevin Williamson already used this idea for a tv show called The Following.
