No thanks. Not gonna bother. Life’s too short. So are the kids.

Although I do NOT appreciate that the 'suburbs' is too on-the-nose and earthly, I don't want to make any other complaints about this trailer.

This is not for me, and I have no interest in it. With that said, I think it looks like something that would be GREAT for kids. And I support that. It would be awesome most of all if it was actually well written, unlike almost all SW shows up to this point.

For me, I just don't want to watch an adventure with kids. But it would be great to have a series that just does its own thing within the SW universe; tells a great story; provides adventure and wonder, all while having decent characters making choices that fit their personality.
I would love it if we finally have a SW show where it works as a standalone tale in the SW universe without leaning into nostalgia, but provides great entertainment for the whole family.

Too little too late for me, but I'm curious to hear what the general populace thinks of this.

I'm only looking forward to ANDOR S2 and I am done trying with SW outside of that. ANDOR is exactly what I was hoping for with a movie/show that was centered more to the ADULT fans.

Hopefully, SKELETON CREW can be what I was hoping for with a SW show that can appeal to the whole family, child and adult alike.

Because he was tired of the negativity of the prequels. He also told people to go watch The Matrix.

I don't mind if the kids are the focus. Or it is a centered thing for kids. I just need it to be written and executed well.

Star Wars and ESB are great cuz they're simple enough for kids while also engaging. Well, SW maybe is a bit dull at times but ESB is an awesome sweet spot of awesome. It doesn't insult the intelligence of its audience. ROTJ, is decent and has some of the highest of the highs but also some very dull lows. ROTJ is a mess but it is pretty dang cool at times. The prequels are.... okay. seems like they get worse w/ the writing w/ each one. ROTS is like a damn comedy cuz of how bad the dialogue is.

And the sequels are like in some parts people who don't remember situational realism. Akin to a lot of the Marvel films too. It was too self aware at times. Like the emotions were right but the execution of them was not.

Things aimed at kids CAN be done well. Not just a shit ton of noise and on the nose BS. Paddington was for kids but it was a well executed film that didn't go stupid. It just kept it's audience engaged. Action movies can have great stories. Horror movies too. Too many fans and filmmakers keep devolving to well it's a "insert genre here" and excuse it just cuz it does the most general thing you'd want out of it. But it shouldn't be like that. Just try to make a good thing overall.

I can assure you, if you were a kid watching Star Wars on the big screen for the first time in 1977, there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING "dull" about it.

Quite the contrary, it was a quantum leap forward from anything that had come before it. Every single scene commanded your full attention... and you just couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

It was truly the experience of a lifetime.

Yeah, I was almost 10 when SW came out. I wasn’t bored for a second.

You’re a bit all over the place here. However I’ll just focus on the second paragraph OT comments. As a kid in the late 70s / early 80s, and purely from the perspective of a kid (ie under 10) ESB was the least kid friendly. SW had the right amount of simplicity, pace and spectacle, ROTJ in contrast to ESB, was more kid friendly with the Ewoks and a relatively happy ending.

In recent years, more extraneous parts of Star Wars lore have been welcomed back into the saga’s main continuity. Shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka have been a treasure-trove of references to lesser-explored areas of the galaxy’s mythos, whether it’s the live-action debuts of Krrsantan and Grand Admiral Thrawn, a glimpse of the Mythosaur, or the arrival of the Dark Troopers. But one part of Star Wars history that isn’t considered canon anymore – and so far hasn't been welcomed back in – is the pair of Ewok movies, Caravan Of Courage and The Battle For Endor. The two made-for-TV films were released in the mid-‘80s, and now have a home on Disney+, even if they’re not part of the official story these days. But if you have a soft spot for Wicket's adventures, buckle up: one species from The Battle For Endor is about to make a comeback.

Speaking to Empire in a director’s roundtable interview for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, filmmaker David Lowery revealed that the Teek – the super-speedy Endor natives – will be making a comeback in his episode. And yes, they’ll be conjured with practical effects. “I was most excited about having hand puppets on set,” says Lowery. “It’s the most ancient technology being used with the most cutting-edge technology, simultaneously. That combination was absolutely magical. There’s a character in my episode that’s […] the Teek, from Battle For Endor. And it’s just a little hand puppet! It’s just (wiggles hand). I was like, ‘Is he gonna get digitally touched up, or replaced?’ No, in the final episode it’s just a hand puppet in the middle of this crazy Volume set. The cognitive dissonance of seeing those two things together, live in front of you, is absolutely incredible.”

I’m kind of scared to see them because I’ve heard that they are pretty bad.
