Still, if Jurassic Park 6 opened this weekend instead of next, Top Gun 2 would have had a much larger drop.

Yeah I just think you are looking at it wrong. Look at the past handful of Marvel movies who have massive opening weekends then fall off to that 60 to 70 percent and they have little completion.

I think noting the difference in the Top Gun numbers, the better question is why is didn’t drop in the second weekend and I don’t think pack of completion is the sole reason why.

Still low key mad that my theatre didn't get Crimes Of The Future, but they got Watcher, and both are practically in the same amount of theatres.

Shoulda woulda coulda.

If it had been vice versa, JP6 would have an even bigger drop than the one it's headed for. If The Dark Knight had opened during Iron Man's second weekend, it would have smothered Tony. And so on.

Apart from anything else, I hope that the smash success of Top Gun : Maverick means that Cocktail : Flanagan is now all systems go.

If that happens, Days of Thunder: Tokyo Drift won't be far behind

At this point, it feels like $450 million is likely. It's Monday was three times Doctor Strange's second Monday. I think it'll be stealing money away from Jurassic this weekend, not the other way around. Jurassic will no doubt be tops, but Maverick is going to still be packing seats.
