Just rewatched the godawful, shi#@y 2006 Blu-ray a couple weeks ago. My eyes nearly bled. This news has me absolutely over the freaking moon.

Will still hang onto that amazing 2002 Artisan DVD (with Mr. Pink slipcover!) for all those great supplements, though.

The holy grail of 4K upgrades. Every video transfer of it from VHS to Blu has never looked anything like it did on film. We are in for such a treat

Four pages in, no one needs my excitement but this is my all-time favorite QT film so I’m gobsmacked with delight!

Agreed. Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction are the only two Tarantino movies that really stand out. After that it went downhill and he tried to be overly cool with the visual style and overly smart with the dialogue, but it never seemed as genuine as in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Some of his other movies are still ok, but nowhere near those two mentioned.

Maybe it's in good hands, but who knows what he might do with it. This is the same guy who was talking about releasing some never before seen deleted scenes from Pulp Fiction as ****ing NFTs not long ago, so maybe only one other lucky ****er will get to see that Martin print. I really hope he put that horrible idea in the trash where it should be, but haven't heard anything since he mentioned it in a interview within the last year. Then there is still the Rubenstein hurdle that dogs Martin and Dawn of the Dead to this day....
My hopes remain low.

As for this upcoming 4K, my hopes are slightly high. Quentin and Lionsgate have surely heard and seen the hate for previous home treatments. If it's ****ed again this time, then they are just toying with us and will never make it look proper. I can't imagine they all want it to be substandard, can they?

I've never seen the Whole Bloody Affair. What I'd probably do is rip both versions, cut the colored fight out of the Whole Bloody Affair and insert it into Volume 1. Those movies are so distinct. Much of Volume 2 feels more like a slow western. Including, obviously, the Good, Bad, Ugly music.

It chaps my ass knowing Tarantino made a superfluous extended/miniseries version of Hateful Eight for Netflix but has still done nothing with Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, something that was teased over a decade ago. Especially since it’s his favorite of his films (as well as mine) and he’s adamant about it being one movie.

Oh yeah, I agree with you on that. I wish he weren't so glib in this regard and realized how few people have the privilege he has when it comes to owning film prints.

Great announcement! I brought this Blu-ray $3.96 at Wal-Mart 3 years ago in Black Friday after Thanksgiving. Great movie and happy to add 4K UHD in my collection.

DOGS was shot in Super 35 and finished on film.

No reason for a filmout, which as I understand it is only sometimes used for films taken from D.Is.
