this movie is fairly popular. Don't understand how VS got it over Shout/Kino/Arrow

Vinegar Syndrome are teasing a big-budget sleaze epic with an equally epic cast. Now most folks immediately thought of Caligula, but with Penthouse focused on the MMXX coming next year, I think it'll be a while yet before we see a UHD. I think Showgirls is more likely as VS have an existing deal with MGM. Kino also said the film was unavailable to them, so somebody in the States must have it.

TBH at this point it really wouldn't surprise me if VS are making more money than any of those labels. It seems like they've got the boutique model down to a science.

Too many of these titles not getting UK releases.

Can't afford most of these.

Most of their titles are near DTV quality films. Severin is like Arrow Academy/Criterion/Masters of Cinema/BFI in comparison.

…And VS are able to get dopes like me to buy massive quantities of them during their sales. They probably do have fun money to spend on pricier licenses at this point.

Yeah, I dunno what's going on at the moment with MGM and the UK boutiques. Maybe the licences for some of the top-tier catalogue titles are too expensive.

It's weird isn't it? Shirley they can't just be offering them for US labels? I mean, Arrow got Robo but that itself was a dual territory release.

This is only art for the case. Hopefully the slipcover will be designed by Robert Sammelin (The Invisible Maniac, The Amityville Horror, The Iceman Cometh, Stiff Competition, FleshEater, Alien Private Eye...).

This November is amazeballs. Road House, Planes Trains & Automobiles, and Prince of Thieves all getting the UHD love. That's three of my top ten most favourite-est movies in the whole wide world. I only hope a polar bear doesn't fall on me before I get to enjoy them.

lol wow, never saw this coming from them, especially as a VSU. I want this, but I think I'll wait for the slipcover version, I don't need the deluxe packaging for this. I can't help but wonder if a bigger studio will put out this UHD later, this is a really popular film that has had multiple Blu Ray releases, there's no way this stays exclusive. Also TCM2 is supposed to be announced Oct. 1st from them, that is already gonna cost $40 and takes priority over this for me.
