I seem to recall liking Superman IV when I was a kid (about eight or nine, I guess). But I haven't seen it since. I don't think I really ever liked III, and the Pryor + Supes combo didn't work for me. Again, not seen that one in 30 years or so.

From Jim Bowers, Superman Movies maximum expert:

Quote:
Update, November 21, 2022…

Here’s the update from the Warner Bros. remastering team responsible for the 2023 Christopher Reeve Superman 4K remasters: The theatrical versions of SII, SIII and SIV, including the first movie, are being released in 4K (physical media) next year. It is believed that the issues with the first movie’s 2018 4K are being dealt with.

Also among the 4K releases is the 2006 version of Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut, originally released on disc in November 2006. The longer version of Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut (available on streaming services) is not being remastered. As for streaming updates…your guess is as good as mine at this point in time

Hopefully we can get a Superman II Extended (TV?) cut from Warner Archives at some point... in 1080p. I enjoyed that 3+ hour version of Superman: The Movie

Why is the individual release of Superman III 4K in a slimmer case in the UK? I and II aren't.

I is in a slimmer case in my local HMV...

II normal size case no slip. III and IV normal size in slip...

I actually wouldn't mind if Warner started using slimmer cases for slipless 4Ks but keep it consistent!

My initial III was normal UK sized with slipcase, but had to get a replacement as it pixellated every 20 seconds. The replacement was in a slim case with no slip.

Superman II is the only one I haven't seen out in the wild, in a slim case.

II has four discs in it so I don’t think it’s possible to put all those in a slim case?

It's perfectly possible... if you have stackable discs.

Something else that this place loves...
