Some filmmakers think of grain as the texture of their film. Others think of it as a limitation of the film medium. I'm sure Jackson is more about the images he captures rather than the granular texture. When projected, film grain is less noticeable than it'd be on a 4K scan of the camera negative, so maybe some of the filmmakers feel there's some leeway in filtering it off for home presentations - they never intended you to see the grain in the first place.

Don't forget the "unnecessary animosity exciters" where would we be without them?

Stoked to finally see an official release announcement from a label. I'm not sure I can justify the $80+ and the amount of shelf space that these versions would command, so I'll probably hang tight for a standard edition.

I preordered it and will see what the disc looks like when I have it.

And perhaps then I will say something about, or maybe not.

In the years I've been on this site I've never read such an outrage even before the release hits the streets!

I'll wait for the Arrow, the Turbine set looks amazing but not this close to Christmas!

Yes but who’s more outraged: the fool or the fools who reply to him?

Bear in mind it’s got little to do with The Frighteners, it’s just round 57 of Geoffy vs Germany’s finest. And with that, I’ll leave you all in peace. Tschüss!

Turbine managed to stretch The Last House on the Left to 6 discs through bonus disc documentaries and extended cuts, could have taken up less. Psycho Legacy also included SD open matte versions.
