Death Stranding 1 was a game that some loved while not appealing to others as much due to the task focused missions of delivering cargo in a world overrun by the black slime monsters and rapid aging.

The landscape was neat, but barren and void of points of interest. Then constantly dealing with the slime and the enemies, not fun IMO.

I'll skip on part 2 unless they make the gameplay a lot more fun, like Astrobot. I'm joking, this is a serious themed game and the main focus is on th heavy story telling. I felt like I was watching a movie 70% of the time instead of playing a game.

In MGSV, that is more my type of gameplay.

Slightly off-topic, but with all the talks about DS2 that got me wanting to buy the Death Stranding Director's Cut. I am glad I didn't buy those used copies I came across before. I found a brand new one on Amazon for the same price today and I bought it. I beat the original PS4 release when it came out but I have never replayed it. Looking forward to the Director's Cut.

I waited and played the PS5 version of DS. So glad I did! One of the most unique, beautiful, bizarre, and arduous gaming experiences I've ever had! Death Stranding, to me, is one of the most "important" games to have come out in a long long time! I thought about this game a lot after finishing it. I'll never play it again! Simply because I know I can never experience it the same way ever, the way I did playing through it the first time.

I'm in the extreme minority in that I don't give two farts about photo modes in any game. So the announcement of one for DS2 would normally be meaningless to me. But the notion of making such a mode integral to the experience in this game, rather than meaningless side content, has actually killed my interest in this sequel. I guess I'm gonna have to be lame/lazy and just watch a movie of the cutscenes stitched together, when one undoubtedly pops up on YouTube.

I am sure the team wouldn't just add a mode because it looks cute or trendy. That's not how they roll. I think you could unlock things or open up features that may be beneficial down the road.

Hence it'll be integral to the game. That kills my interest. I'd rather it be something I can ignore without negatively impacting my playthrough.

I don't care about photo modes either. I'd rather photo mode tasks than the delivery stuff lol

I finished the OG too back when it released. Despite the PS5 upgrade I just don’t think I could do a fresh playthrough. That endurance test near the end of the game almost broke me. Maintenance Simulator has a nice gameplay loop for all the stuff you built & maticulously placed to make deliveries easier.

DS2 is in my wish list. Probably because of morbid curiosity of trying to figure out how his brain works. There is normal, then there is Kojima.

I can't say I've been excited for this game, so I passed on the livestream. But I'll at least give the trailer a shot.

Decima + MetaHuman looks amazing and the story looks really interesting. Guess I need to finish the first game so I know wth is going on. It's been on my PlayStation for years and I'm like 2 hours into it, can it be finished in a weekend?

Also, they show a physical box at the end so I'm guessing there is a physical copy, but the Collector's Edition is a "full game digital download." I wonder why they don't include the disc with the version that has a bunch of physical goods

Well, I really dug the Woodkid song.

Everything else is a hard pass for me. Not even the
[Show spoiler] TEMU editions of Solid Snake and Metal Gear [insert model name here]
at the end mustered any excitement from me. I appreciate Kojima's willingness to let his wild imagination ramble on, but I have no more patience for him. He to me is like George Lucas: a great world builder but a terrible writer.

if you played (almost) non stop for 2-3 days maybe? it's not that short (38-40 hours), and you can easily get distracted with building ziplines and bridges, etc.. lol

The most expensive version is exclusive to PS Direct and will be limited. With how they botched the TLoU2 mailings last time I wouldn’t put much trust in them for anything you want to collect.

This looks absolutely mental.

While I enjoyed the first game, it wasn't Kojima's best work. But considering how this one looks cranked up to 11, with an obviously bigger budget and broader cast -- it makes me appreciate the first game more since when you think about it, it was his first game after becoming completely independent post-Konami.

This game looks like Kojima has full confidence in what he's doing. And Yoji Shinkawa's art direction has never looked better.

This game could very well be a game of the year contender. It looks that good.

I love Hideo Kojima so freaking much. Trailer was awesome.

Can't wait to replay the first game (first time DC) before this one releases.

Kojima's willingness to get weird in his videogames is one of the reasons why I love them so much and this looks completely bonkers! I'm so excited to play this. I just hope he's improved the map system because it was confusing as shit in the first game.
