Shout Factory Blu-Ray review is up on the website. Is ranked 0.5 stars lower than the Umbrella but different reviewers did these (Onondorf for Shout and Atanasov for Umbrella).

Movies are subjective, of course, but I couldn't disagree anymore with this recent review's take on this film.

Digital bits is reporting the 2.0 track is mono, which means its inclusion isnt really useful since it was a stereo film. Also he said the shout has a slightly better encode.

Would also be curious if shout did any additional color correction as sometimes happens (also digital bits seems to imply a difference in black level). Can't really tell since the screencaps don't line up in the reviews.

Anyway, if it is in an upgrade doesnt sound like much more than a $10 upgrade.

Stunningly gorgeous photography and vibrancy in this film. Just imagine that HDR!

I called it before it was even announced. I sensed it was coming when Shout quickly released a blu-ray a couple of months ago, after presumably sitting on it for a while. It figures they would try to make some quick money off it before everyone flocks to the 4K UHD.

I'm happy enough having a US BD release, and probably wouldn't double-dip for 4K anyway. Shout was from a Warner license, so they probably didn't have 4K rights anyway.

I have the second release of this Umbrella put out. To anyone who has or at least seen both, is it worth it to upgrade to the Shout?

There's no mention of HDR on the product page.

This is on Turner Classic Movies right now and it must be an old transfer or master or whatever because it looks like a DVD.
Anyway, I can honestly say I don't really care for it. I mean I'm glad it's available for everyone now on Blu-ray, but I wouldn't seek it out now that I've watched most of it. Just my opinion.

Apparently the 4k is region locked, according to a FB post. Not sure what is going on~but a heads up to anyone before buying that version...
