My 4k Steelbook has been shipped today so i will hopefully receive it early next week and then i'll judge for myself.
Those comparisons mean nothing to me.

I don't know if it was Koch before but they only distribute for Studio Canal in Germany.

Seriously?????

The new blu ray blows the old one out of the water!!

You seem to get fooled by the sharpening of the old disc maybe?
New Disc looks much more natural!
No sharpening and the color grading fits the genre much better.

The old one also has a cheap look in dark scenes because its too bright.
New one looks like it should in darker scenes.

Also the new master has way more natural details if you dont get fooled by the sharpening of the old disc.

The new Blu Ray looks superb in my opinion. Im very happy with it. For the first time actually with this movie.

The old blu-ray is a total joke. The horribly raised shadows and sharpening make it unwatchable. New transfer looks nicely filmic and I'm sure in 4K and with HDR it'll look amazing

I haven’t had a chance to spin the actual disc but this Steelbook (from France) is a thing of absolute beauty, with a shiny-yet-suitably-distressed gold finish and the title (in English, woot!) is debossed. Really eye catching.

Very keen to hear about the disc itself and how the movie looks. I hope this gets a UK release.

Anyone see a barrier to a Lionsgate release?

Looks like they released the blu and this steelbook would be $50 import, while a LG would be half the price.

Seeing both regular and steelbook options for the UK makes it even more baffling as to why SC didn’t do the same thing with Cross of Iron.

Looks like it's still a PG certificate. I hope that doesn't mean the UK release is going to include the cut version.

That's a good point. Some of the cuts to get a PG were exceptionally clumsy. Once you've seen the uncut veraion you can't go back. I'll wait to have it confirmed which versiom is included before pre-ordering

I haven’t seen this cut version but the 124-minute runtime that cover art advertises is the same as the French 4K and the old U.S. BD.

Uhhh...those BD caps of the new disc absolutely crush the old one. The magenta push on that old master is BRUTAL. Yikes.

The easiest way to confirm which version we're getting in the UK is for someone with the French or German UHD to check the menu. When the disc boots up, what countries can you select? If it's just Germany and France (like it was for Angel Heart) then that's a bad sign. If it's a choice between Germany, France and United Kingdom then the same disc has likely been pressed for all territories and we'll be fine.
