The success of both Mario and GotG just goes to show how insignificant twitter is because most people there have such an intense hatred for Chris Pratt. I still don't understand why studios still give this platform so much importance in their decision making.

Well, no, not exactly. Seeing as Guardians has only been out a little over a week and will only capture the top for 2 weekends, that's not a month. It's got a nice holdover and is performing well. However, those brakes are going to stop very quickly once Fast X comes in. It's already happening a little bit with the daily box office during the week. It's good, but it's not earth-shattering. I am sure that even though Disney is pleased right now, they are also rather disappointed. They were expecting BIGGER things from this. What they've got instead is merely good.
