Carrie Fisher's career also didn't take off after the SW movies.

Plus today's made for streaming type movies are not always the same thing as those old direct to video flicks with shoestring budgets and Billy Blanks and Delia Sheppard as the big names above the title. Though to be honest I think I liked those old DTV movies more than most modern streaming originals.

Yes. I was affectionately taking the piss at this movie with that first line of my review.

I enjoyed it (only two theaters were playing it out of like 20 or so in my metro area; seems like it got a pretty limited release). But yeah it doesn’t revolutionize the genre at all. It’s a solid B movie and Ridley does a good job. It’s entertaining but nothing amazing. I would say it’s more of a suspense/thriller for the first 2/3rds of the film with the final act being more action oriented. Will probably pick it up on physical (blu ray or 4K) at some point.

To be fair, I did not watch any trailers, so i did not have any particular expectations (have been finding myself enjoying movies more now that I try to avoid most trailers).

Despite going to the theater frequently, I never saw a trailer for this. It just opened.

I don't recall seeing any trailers either. I had to go waaaaaaay out to watch it (more than 25 miles away) and while I enjoyed it, it was sad that it didn't get a wider release.

I do feel that Daisy deserves to become a major star, hopefully she will get something with a major franchise soon.

Even if it isn't Star Wars.

After seeing Daisy Ridley in this movie with that short hair style she was giving serious Johanna Dark vibes. Which is ironic because this was the director of GoldenEye. I would absolutely watch her in a live action movie as Johanna Dark. She was even called that name a handful of times that they didn't call her Joey.

Born in the Canary Islands to an Arabic father and British mother (Taz Skylar).. I'm already guessing which actor in the movie is the evil one. Congrats Hollywod, even after a geno you're still demonizing Arabs. Sickening

Cleaner 2025 about Daisy cleaning windows, not to be confused by Cleaner 2008 starring Sam Jackson and Ed Harris, about Sam's character cleaning up after crime scenes.

Unless I misunderstood your post, I don't know what you're talking about. Cleaner was filmed in England and is set in London. It was financed by non U.S. companies. Where does Hollywood fit in?

WTF!? False advertisement alert! Its been awhile. First of all, I thought this movie was gonna be a espionage at first for some reason. Couple of minutes in, OH, its another Die Hard wannabe. But with a certain twist. This movie is so misleading. After the movie, I was so curious to know how they marketed this movie, so I watched the trailer for the first time afterwards. But yeaaahh... its another Wal-Mart Die Hard that tries way too hard at being "clever".
