For me importing from UK is the more economical because the US variant is expensive. Its rated 18 and runtime is 82 minutes while the US version is Unrated with a runtime of 80 minutes so I am really confused.
The running time of our restoration of Fascination is 81:56. All of our slipcase, sleeve and booklet artwork therefore says 82 minutes across the board, regardless of territory or format.

The 18 certificate of the UK version is purely in line with the stipulations of the 1984 Video Recordings Act, whereas US releases don't have the same compulsory classification requirement. But aside from minor localised cosmetic differences (barcodes, BBFC), it's essentially the same product regardless of where you purchase it. Most importantly, the machine-readable side of the discs will be absolutely identical, as we only created one master per format.

For the record, just one of our US releases differs from the UK version over and above local issues like barcodes, and that's The Triple Echo, whose US booklet was updated to reflect the fact that director Michael Apted died since the UK version was released. If there are any more US/UK differences in future releases that go beyond the trivially cosmetic, you can rest assured that we'll flag them up here well in advance of the release.

I can't say for sure but I would've thought so as I thought there was 6 thousand 4k and 4 thousand BD limited for US/UK. So assumed they'd be the same I guess.

Thank you for the clarification. Is there any upcoming sale for US as well? I see the UK releases are available on discounted price at Amazon UK while Amaon US and all other US retailers list them expensive.

I watched Fascination last night, and yowza, it looked incredible. I can see why folks list this among their favorite of Rollin's films. It is beautifully shot with absolutely haunting imagery. The doomed scamp who is at the center of the story reminded me of a dimmer Alex from A Clockwork Orange. Of course, Brigitte Lahaie is the greatest standout with her mesmerizing scene with the scythe, and then
[Show spoiler]as she crawls after being shot like a wounded animal
.

I am sure that the extra features will be excellent, as they have been on all of the other Indicator releases. Can't wait to see what else they announce this year!

These Rollin catalogue titles have been such impressive releases, I'm now champing at the bit to get my eyes on The Nude Vampire 4k next, in particular. Late April feels like such a long way off.....

Started off the Halloweenie marathon scene with this blind buy. And...I kinda loved it.

The movie is not going to be for everyone but I found it hypnotic, gothic and I'm in love with Eva. I did like the first half better because of the Eva scenes but it's a solid movie if you are into this kind of stuff.

The UHD is pretty stunning. Indicator killed it with this release. Very detailed and the colors are rich and leap off the screen.

Anyone have any other Indicator suggestions? As of now, I just have this and Two Orphan Vampires

I have all the Rollins and they are spectacular. I also picked up Black Magic Rites and Cold Eyes of Fear, which were fun. They have a big sale at some point and lots of their Blu-rays are really reasonably priced. The upcoming El Vampiro set looks amazing.

I enjoyed this movie as well - my first Rollins movie - and I watched it a second time shortly afterwards.

The next (and only other) Rollins I watched was, in fact, Two Orphan Vampires; I did not like it.

New fans of Indicator’s incredible 4k release of Fascination, and jonesing for more Rollin in that vein, should go directly to Indicator’s equally stunning releases for Lips of Blood 4k, Night of the Hunted 4k, Shiver of the Vampires 4k, and The Nude Vampire 4k.

Encouraged by your post! I did buy all of them (Indicator's quality and all...) and am hoping to at least like some of them... but even if I don't, I'm happy to support them.

Are the subtitles tone mapped on the Rollin 4ks?

A Standard Edition is coming in June. The LE is still available, but this is likely a sign that it's close to selling out.

With standards, too bad they cant do some in between sorta limited edition reprint of the first two Rollin releases that were a different size than the rest. It’s a nitpicky thought, of course. It’d just look a bit nicer on the shelf with them all lined up.

Totally get where you're coming from. Personally, I really like the way Indicator handles their releases. Their limited editions feel premium but not over the top. Second Sight’s as an example, which are impressive but can be a bit much sometimes (for me). And their standard editions are perfect if you’re just in it for the movie. I love that they offer both options. I really hope Lionsgate starts doing something similar in the States—those crazy prices for something like The Third Man are just too much. I’d much rather have a solid slipcase release with the best possible presentation of the film.

I was hesistent about these LEs given the digipak nature (in case spindle breaks), but these are really nice. My only wish is that I like to be dual format and I cant add a disc, so I have double packaging for every released Rollin. Maybe next go around (not for Rollins to throw it off), is maybe offer different theatrical artworks for the slipcases going on each format release (so UHD gets Style A poster while BD gets Style B poster - kinda like the two different Arrow Silence of the Lambs slipboxes) so if you buy both, there is something different besides just the disc. But I do understand why they would be the same, the packaging is identical for both and that probably makes it simpler and less expensive to produce, with only the j cards being different.

I’d much prefer they sell them as a dual format with both discs packaged together.

Our 4K UHD editions of Lips of Blood, Fascination, The Night of the Hunted and Shiver of the Vampires have sold out in the US.

UK editions of all four (with identical region-free discs and books; just minor localised differences on the outer packaging) are still available for now.

As ever, they'll be followed by standard editions later this year, but these won't include the books.
