We're talking about films from the Weinstein library, not the films Lionsgate directly owns and have yet to get the same 4K treatment.

Although I'm all for Lionsgate to get off their butts and have that film get the upgrade as well.

And yet it somehow *still* looks 10x better than the color version of the scene. That says less about how good it looks in B&W than it does about how truly awful it looks in color. That said, I also think thew B&W version of the film helps the effects on another level as well. Darabont himself even says that he feels the B&W aesthetic gives the film a 50's vibe. That opens up a lot for me with the effects, making the entire film feel more like an homage to that era of filmmaking -- the effects almost LENDING to that sense of nostalgia and an older movie-making style.

Excellent Film.

The ending is one of the most shocking endings in a movie ever. Even if you have only seen this movie once, you will NEVER forget the ending as it will stay with you. Some people did not like the ending because the book is different but i loved it.

Better yet, where's the 3D upgrade? It's 2023 and we need to move on to objectively more entertaining technologies. 2D was never good. It's time to fix it.
