I really don’t like that digital art look of the slipcover. Looks like a PC game cover.

I think I'm going to get rid of the slip and use that art. Their slipcovers are leaving a lot to be desired lately. It's like they're applying a blanket template to all their releases regardless of genre. Nothing on that Fatal Games slip spells 1984 slasher movie, more like The Running Man lol.

I love the random creature that they drew floating in the water in the bottom left hand corner. Zoom in on it, I couldn’t stop laughing the first time I noticed it. It’s obviously one of the victims, but it’s not any less amusing.

I actually like the slipcover art. But I ended up going with the standard edition since most of my regular blus from Vinegar Syndrome are slip-less, and I'm really only chasing slipcovers for 4K titles now. More than happy to just finally own this movie in good quality!

The site is currently closed so I can't check...is the slipless edition cheaper?

Slipless copies are always cheaper. How much cheaper varies from title to title, but usually $2-5 for slips, up to 10 for slipcases like TCM2 or Existenz.

Man this movie sucked haha. Absolutely no skill or art behind it.

Also I'm going to be vague here but it kind of made me think a little less of the folks at Vinegar Syndrome as it's pretty obvious who they were pandering to by selecting it as a release given that it has no notable qualities as a film.

Who do you think that they were pandering to? What does this mean? If you are going to bring politics into this explain?

Pretty sure political discussions aren’t allowed on this forum.

People like bad movies?

Wow. I didn’t know that.

You’re telling me that right now for the first time.

I've seen a lot of inane statements on these forums over the years, but this one is right up there.

Agreed. The same people who tried to cancel Gone With The Wind and The French Connection are now trying to do the same thing with Fatal Games.

I've never seen the film before but had heard of it many times over and seen some entertaining youtube Halloween countdown review videos which previously had me quite interested in checking it out. I've been made well aware that it's definitely a lower tier slasher.

Your inference that there may be something more than than the usual low budget VS charm/dreck mixed in now has me genuinely curious. I've seen plenty of films with blatant pandering over the years but I can't say that I've seen much of any from so long ago that even remotely come close to what modern filmmaking is guilty of and so I'm a bit excited to see if I pick up on whatever it is you are referring to.

Luckily for me, my non-subscriber April Fools buying, Flash pre-ordering, multiple black friday ordering self had everything marked as shipped today and so with a bit of luck, I'll be able to check things out for myself after Christmas (of which I took the week between Christmas and New Years off from work and so this will work out perfectly!)

Some people see politics and conspiracy in everything...and lets be clear and honest, thats both sides of the table. Move on.
