I think the same thing. Pre-Lone wolf McQuade, I'd say only An eye for an eye is a good movie. I kind of enjoy them all (i'm a fairly big Chuck fan and just did a new marathon recently watching all of his movies from Breaker breaker until Top dog haha) but i'd say he truly found his voice and style with Lone wolf. The beard. The dirt. The beer. The one man killing machine. It all started there.
Mind you, it goes downhill after the first Delta force (although I like MIA 3 and The hero and the terror, even if they aren't as good as the previous 6 movies) and then after Delta force 2 it really hits rock bottom with stuff like The hitman (much worst than any of his pre-Lone wolf stuff), although I do have a soft spot for Sidekicks.

If you have a chance, his biography is really interesting. He's essentially one of his characters when you see everything he has accomplished haha. It's super captivating. The older he gets the more religious he becomes and the less interesting it gets but the first 3/4 are great!

His accomplishments are exaggerating. I´m speaking of course about his days as a point fighter. He was never a 6 times or 7 times World Karate Champion.

As a matter of fact at the time in the 60's only people from the east and west coast of the US were fighting against each other. That was called a World Championship.

There were no people fighting from Europe or Asia.

However, Norris was an amazing point fighter but point fighting is no full contact.

I like Norris but I also think his career went down after "The Delta Force". Of course, he was never a Box Office star. His biggest movie made 22 million and that was "Missing in Action".

He had the opportunity after his critical acclaimed "Code of Silence" but after that he did movies with a B-company (Cannon).

In someways he became a bigger star after he was career was done due to the "chuck Norris facts" and all of that.

I feel bad for having not picked this up yet. Some stuff just had to take a back seat for a little while. I'll get it soon though. Chuck is and always will be the man!

Chuck Norris was never a big movie star. His biggest movie "Missing in Action" grossed 22 million dollars.

But Norris is the biggest martial arts icon after Bruce Lee.

The Chuck Norris facts are ridiculous. I can't laugh about that crap

I wouldn´t say that Norris became a bigger star because of his "facts".

I think many more people probably became aware of him than otherwise would have atleast. That stuff was everywhere for a fairly good length of time. Although, I do admit that I got tired of it fairly quickly. It was like when you know someone that once tells a funny joke and then they start trying to force them just because they made you laugh once.

When his acting got better scripts for movies got worse. In earlier movies he was rarely that believable as tough hombre, been years since saw them but recall Breaker and Eye for an eye were particularly weak. Forced Vengeance was one of his better acting jobs pre-Missing in action.

Might be I remember wrong but have feeling did read somewhere long time ago eventually he did not want to be labelled as martial arts movie star and that is why not so much karate action in his later movies. May be recall it wrong though..

I like "An Eye for an Eye" very much. Such an entertaining film and it has Christopher Lee and Mako in it.

I didn't like "Breaker, Breaker", Hellbound and "Top Dog" and some others as well.

Top Dog I believe was his last theatrical film, but if you like K9 you might enjoy this one. I didn't care for most of his 90s stuff.

What do you mean #1 did nothing for you? at the very least that score and ending to the movie is goosebump inducing. But, I love Delta Force! When I first rented Delta Force 2, my initial reaction was wtf is this crap, but i later came to appreciate it. There is lots of solid action stuff in there.

Storyline was bit too standard and the very end was little bit corny when soldiers mourned a fallen Navy after taken down 99 terrorists or so. DF2 is much more captivating, part of credit of course goes to excellent villain, Billy Drago.

Why should they care (or anyone for that matter) how many terrorists were killed? they are terrorists. That does sound like a take a pundit on tv would have today. They would obviously mourn any loss of their own. I agree on Billy Drago he tends to be good, was a really good villain in The Untouchables also.

Got my copy today. Did everyone else get this in an eco-case? First Shout title I've ever had in one of these. Hopefully not a sign of things to come...

Yes, I watched mine last night and was also surprised by the eco case. Never noticed it on any other recent release and that includes the newest Unlawful Entry. PQ and AQ on this baby was about as expected. Not going to blow you away, but serviceable as a typical blu-ray would be. It scratched the Norris itch and I will rewatch this again some day soon with a bunch of other Norris goodies. As always, VERY glad to add another new to blu title to my shelf.
