I really enjoyed this, and Andrew’s stereo conversion is aces, a solid medium throughout with some impressive medium strong moments. And, Go Find Fun now has a review up of this charming little Scottish indie that was tailor-made for quirky nerds like Yours Truly:

Finally got around to watching this low budget comedy, I ended up getting into the story so only really noticed the 3D when it was looking a bit off, this being an early AIPOP release it definitely didn't feel as polished as more recent titles but there's no way I would have sought this out in 2D and I ended up enjoying the film so the conversion did its job.

The only pop-outs I noticed were mild, a glass and the bottom of a phone, there may well have been more. Otherwise there was decent depth in the interiors and it was nice seeing Edinburgh in 3D.

The interviews are a great extra with significantly stronger 3D than the feature, lovely shots of a baseball bat held out of the screen there. Sadly the disc freezes up my (LG) player during the end credits of that extra, I was hoping not to run into that issue again with these BD-Rs.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Considering how challenging the material was, and it was one of the first conversions, it came out pretty well - I found it frustrating that it never managed to pick up much traction as it's a fun little film.

The bonus interview content was shot natively hence the strength of it - I lent the Electric Man team a 3D camera and got them to go off and shoot interviews as we wanted to try and have as many good quality/interesting extras as we could.

As for the disc freeze - it turned out that there are two separate bugs in the disc authoring package, and as it's no longer supported it was a matter of finding work around - that was a painful process! I guess we're still thankful that we have it and that we've located the bugs & workarounds, although unbuggy software would be preferable.

Because the plotting for the most part is so basic the material feels immediately familiar and comfortable. I was expecting less than polished acting (which Derek Dick certainly delivers) but the lead actors were surprisingly good and the film stayed engaging throughout, I've sat through some boring 3D movies but this wasn't one of them.
