Well, another L for Disney if they are indeed making this D+ exclusive.

LOL, no it's not legit, it's the latest name for Geek Gab/The Discfather...
He keeps changing names because his reputation is toxic.

While this is Disney, so I have low expectations for physical releases, no, Disney didn't talk to him.

Let's be real - Disney would be stupid not to put Tron/Legacy on disc. They know thousands of people would buy them. D+ first, sure, but disc NEVER?...no way

I would be torn on a prospective UHD if it had great HDR but was scope throughout.
for what it's worth, vudu/itunes both have the switching imax ratio.

I have a list of titles that is comprehensive, yes. Some are not allowed to be discussed yet and will be announced on 2/2 with the launch of the Vision Pro and 3D for the Apple Store and Vision Pro on Disney+.
I will say that there are a few Pixar and Disney animated titles that haven’t been available on 3D disc before previously that will premiere in that format.

BFG, Alice Through the Looking Glass are done and have gone live with new Dolby Vision 4K (2D) versions on Disney+ quietly.

Would be sweet if Tron: Uprising would get a 4k release, too, but it didn't even get a blu-ray, so... guess not much of a chance...

If anything it's the opposite of Atmoused as it's so loud it clips, as mentioned above.

Oh sure, I mean if there's a third film (had no idea they were doing another) then a tie-in would be a no-brainer. Just saying that "announcing" it for disc is a wee bit premature.

How can it be a wish list thread if the director said it was coming?

I got my hopes up..yet again. I think users should not be allowed to start threads in here without mod approval.

Please explain why. The forum is "4K Blu-Ray AND 4K Movies". JK said it was coming.

Did he specifically say "disc?"

I don't believe Disney=Disc at all anymore. They're losing subscribers at this point. They're doing everything they can to get more

Why not? They're still releasing them.

See: Abyss, True Lies, Aliens, Cinderella, Snow White, etc.

That's why they started releasing physical versions of titles that were Disney+ exclusives?

Exactly why I'm even here. All I really need is the Atmos soundtrack. Even better, a copy of it on a separate CD!¡!¡!¡!

The James Cameron films are controlled by him and his production company.

Tron legacy is 100% Disney. Can't really speak for why we have Cindy and Snow White but I'd speculate it has something to do with the fact that they are considered famous and universally acclaimed classics, whereas Tron Legacy is more of a cult classic. So even though I'd love Tron Legacy 4K Bluray, and I imagine some day we'll get it, I can understand why it isn't a priority for Disney.

I'm fairly certain we'll see the 4K disc, albeit possibly sometime closer to when Ares is released in theaters or when that hits physical media. So far the franchises are all hitting physical media - Star Wars, Marvel, etc. Even the Marvel and Star Wars shows are getting physical releases. No reason why they would not release this on disc as well.
