I hope Shout! Does the sequels. It’s a fun trilogy.

They're far better than I expected. Would definitely pick the sequels up.

I was pleasantly surprised when I rewatched them last year. A lot of the dimension dtv sequels from the early 00s surprisingly hold up well.

Completely agree. Usually entertaining, at the very least. These 2 are quite the fun ride. Solid stories with well done gore effects.

To anyone who hasn't seen them, they're well worth a watch.

Waiting to see a 4K of this. As much as I'm dying to upgrade from DVD, I'm not double-dipping on a Blu then the 4K. I'll wait.

You can actually easily read House of Blues clearly in the last comparison, far right-bottom.

Too bad there is no slip cover. But I guess they don't consider it a collector's edition.

This was definitely worth the upgrade! It's miles above the old blu ray release! Colors, clarity, depth are all much better here. I actually saw this when it opened in the theater on my 27th birthday with friends. I know I'm giving away my age here lol. I decided to upgrade this one just for the nostalgia factor and the memories of that birthday many years ago. Those on the fence about upgrading this shouldn't be. You will be happy you did!

Man, this movie is a core childhood memory of mine. It was one of the first horror movies I remember renting from the video store (I was maybe around 11 years old at the time). The nostalgia factor is huge for me. I have had the same DVD for probably 20 years. Needless to say, this was a day one purchase, and I'm so glad I got this release and bypassed the cheap Echo Bridge disc. It looks great, and is as much fun as I remember it being back then. I think it's an underrated entry in the Dracula film canon. I was also pleasantly surprised by the interview with Patrick Lussier, which was in-depth and ran nearly an hour. Very happy with this release.

Despite being shy of UHD level, the PQ is about as good an upgrade as one could get.

This is a minor note, but did anyone notice that they digitally removed the goof at the end where you see the "concrete" sidewalk lift up a bit when Mary lands on it? I remember catching this way back when I watched it years ago and always thought it was kind of funny. On this new Blu-ray, it is not present.

You can see it in this clip on YouTube, which is how I remember it appearing on the DVD:

Yep, because they reused existing files and didn't QA to ensure they updated everything properly.

I always thought the ending of the movie was a little weird. Prof. Van Helsing says he spent years trying to find a way to kill him, yet couldn't. He managed to catch him with a mirrored trap, yet never thought to put him in the sun?

It wouldn't have worked if Van Helsing put him in the sun centuries ago.
When Dracula looks up at the cross, he is asking for forgiveness and then is allowed to die, which is why he burns.

It is interesting that they didn’t release it as a 4K, now that I think about it with Vinegar doing the Prophecy trilogy, we may yet see the Dimension Dracula trilogy in 4K from Vinegar or someone. I’m gonna hold out because I especially like it as a trilogy.

I’d buy it day one.
