That's where the big ratio stuff is going and GxK is probably going to be on one of the Asian services that are part of that program. Oppenheimer was a rare exception for new releases, because it's a flagship tentpole production and the Director wants it to be viewed as presented, with alternating ratios.

I would blame this on Warners' home entertainment department i'm hoping they won't do this with further releases

I'm not sure I believe the artwork is AI and not just sloppy work by a human, combined with the poster misinterpreting certain details. For instance that "extra nostril" on Kong looks like a shadow of his nose to me.

Hope this one crosses the 500m mark at the box office which is a good number given it's budget of around $150M. This way we get the next installment as I think this franchise is moving in a decent direction.

Given the success of this and GvK, I feel like the more fantastical and upbeat tone is here to stay. The serious tone similar to 2014 will probably be applied to Monarch season 2 instead.

I’m rather desperate for this. The cartoony, wink-at-the-camera lane for this series has gone as far as it can compellingly go. I ache for real awe and frightening stakes again.
