I'm pretty sure it was commissioned and produced for the Shout release, so it will remain exclusive to their 4K.

I will be getting the steelbook of this just because. Been getting into SB's more lately. They are cool and for just $5 bucks more, the hell with it. Solid remake for sure. Love Naomi Watts.

That was a really good documentary too. I put it in my Rings review because I didn't watch it until I had seen all 3. The Samara actress from the sequels plays a big part in it.

Agreed that the documentary GHOST GIRL GONE GLOBAL was terrific. Loved hearing what the reactions from the creators of the Ringu films were when they finally saw the American remake. Plus great insight into Samara's creation from the special makeup effects artists as well as one of the actress' herself. Really entertaining stuff. I'd definitely keep it in mind when deciding which release to pick up.

The should come up with a special edition 4K disc where you ACTUALLY die in 7 days after watching it. Wouldn't that be cool?

The green is great, in my opinion. Maybe I have to see the original blue again to make a final determination, but I love the look of that Blu-ray, even more than the newer color timing (which is still green, just not as much).

I bought the steelbook blu that came out a while back and watched this for the first time since it came out. THe movie held up and I loved it. Will most likely double dip and upgrade to 4k.

I got my copy from Bullmoose today. Has anyone noticed with the latest “Paramount Scares” releases that the inside disc hub imprints through the front of the 4k case/art? I noticed it with this release and every case in the recent horror boxset they put out.

This is still a great little remake all these years later. It plays out more like a psychological thriller than horror film and that works in its favor.
