It just says "bonus disc" for the third disc. Can't be sure but you'd think they'd say Minus Color to push sales so it more likely could be the non-English friendly Japanese extras.

If it does, itll probably be through a 3rd party license or a 4k Bluray releae or it wont be on store shelves and online only kind of thing.

The colorless version of a movie that's Hd only doesnt seem like something that would sell a lot as the main feature would. Thats why I was surprised it didn't get added to this. Then again, Bluray Bonus Feature disc could mean anything. King Kong Vs Godzilla Japanese versionw as treated as a Bonus Feature on disc 8 of Criterion's Godzilla collection release.

i'm actually hoping Toho does a Us Shin Godzilla 4k Bluray release with the monochrome version

It would be odd to include the non-subbed bonus disc on the wide release and leave Minus Color out, especially when Minus Color has a digital release and individual releases in Japan.

I imagine they're treating "Minus Color" and the "Trailer Gallery" as bonus features.

I really wish Toho would just step up and hire a translator for the Extras disc. Rather have Minus Color as a third disc if they won't go that far.

I mean i find it odd they did a Netflix Exclusive English Dub. I'm not a big fan of Live Action english dubs outside of the original Death Note ones but why make it exclusive to Netflix. You could increase sales by putting it on the Bluray because some cant keep up with subtitles

Netflix made the dub. But it's not the only one. They have a ton of different dub and subtitle options that they produced. Say what yuo will about Netflix, but they don't slack when it comes to dubbing their content for their worldwide customers.

Netflix is big on accessibility and likely produced the dubs for various languages themselves.
Toho hasn't really shown much care for dubs lately, considering how the Showa set was missing many. They probably see them as disrespectful and hurts the brand, for years Godzilla movies were associated with bad dubbing. Minus One's success despite subs shows dubs aren't really needed - but I still think they should be included for those who want it.

I know they made the dub, I more meant Toho was fine with it. Since it can hurt some sales on this for those who are extremelycrazy about an English dub.

I don't know if Toho gives someone a license if that means they don't need permission to dub it. I just more meant I'm surprised they didnt try to ask Netflix to use their English Dub for Home Video.

I do hope we get the other Godzilla stuff on Netflix on Bluray sometime soon

The dub being included or not doesnt affect me personally. It's just more of surprise. I figure they would want to grab the crowd of Americans who dont have the attention span to read subs

Should also be noted that Netflix charges too much to use their dubs. There was a anime release that Sentai picked up for home video, and it was cheaper to produce a new dub rather than pay for the one Netflix already made.

Okay that makes more sense now. At that point i would make my own dub and deal with oh "why arent they using the original dub" controversy

Guess I'll keep watching "The Visual Effects of Godzilla Minus One" on Youtube if I want any behind-the-scenes content with subtitles.

They're comfortable with closed captions. Bless them for embracing what is my 25-year habit, but it's not quite the same.

All I can say is what the survey data indicated:
Of note: Watching foreign-language TV shows and movies with English subtitles made the feature mainstream for young watchers.

"These gens are interested in entertainment from around the world, thanks to the global platforms they've grown up with access to," YPulse said.

I will say that I'm thankful that we're in the era that the "subtitle scourge" is mostly a thing of the past.
