I went with HMV Japan again. It's annoying to pay for the pre-order and then have to pay again for the postage but that seems to be the way HMV Japan operate now with WorldShopping, it wasn't that way with Deadpool & Wolverine but has been since Brave New World.
Placed my first ever order the other week with HMV Japan but didn’t use the WorldShopping service. I turned that feature off and then chose to use EMS with postage costs included with the order total cost.

I did look but didn't see any option to turn it off.

I seem to recall when first visiting the site a service bar pop-up for WorldShopping appeared. On there was an option to Ignore that and use EMS instead...

There should be an option on the pop up to "Ignore WorldShopping service."

Great to see the continuation of these 3D blu rays from Marvel Japan.

With amazon Japan though, I don't think it's possible to order from them without seeing: This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location.

I'm going with buyee.jp on this. So far without the shipping it's 8,436 yen. That is $61.43 in US money. The price is 7,636 yen, 300 yen buyee service fee and 500 Standard plan insurance. When buyee receives it they will send the shipping cost. They have a international shipping estimate tool. I figured it would cost around 1400 yen. That's around $10.00. So it looks like for now my total will be around $72.00. Pretty doggone good. Way better than HMV.

It’s in 2D in Apple Vision despite a digital 3D release being vastly easier and cheaper than a physical one.

Since it is not (yet?) available from AmiAmi, I made my first order for this through HMV Japan. Man, what a laborious process to get through registration, Lawson registration, a forced password change after registration, and a non-intuitive order process where you specify 'credit card' for payment, but have no option to enter the card details until after you complete the order.

Not to mention requiring multiple re-logins and captcha entries throughout, and wanting my birthdate info. It made the whole thing feel sketchy, but it seems to have eventually worked and I have a confirmed email for my order.

If there are others unfamiliar to HMV Japan/Lawson registration like I was, be ready for this.

Just cancelled my Captain America BNW order at HMV so I can combine that with Thunderbolts. Shipping costs stay the same, so I save 4700 yen, not bad.
I already saw Cap in the theatre, so there's no rush to see it again.

Disney does not release the 3D versions of its movies on Vision Pro until the day they are available on Disney+. Until then, you can only watch the 2D version. So, once Thunderbolts is released on Disney+ (probably sometime in August), the 3D version will be available through both the Apple TV store and Disney+.

Examples:
  • Captain America: Brave New World was released on the Apple TV store on April 15, 2025 (2D only). It was released on Disney+ on May 28, 2025, at which time the 3D version became available on both Apple TV and Disney+.
  • Mufasa: The Lion King was released on the Apple TV store on February 18, 2025 (2D only). It was released on Disney+ on March 26, 2025, at which time the 3D version became available on both Apple TV , and Disney+.
  • Moana 2 was released on the Apple TV store on January 28, 2025 (2D only). It was released on Disney+ on March 12, 2025, at which time the 3D version became available on both Apple TV and Disney+.

Japan Steelbook via Tenso

I just placed a proxy order for the steelbook via TensoJapan.com:

I admit to feeling some slight jitters. My first time using this service was with the steelbook for Captain America Brave New World, which is still outstanding. Hopefully both proxy orders will proceed smoothly.

Do you think they just forgot to enable 3D for Ant-Man and Coco in Apple TV?

I have no idea. But I believe those are the only two 3D movies that are exclusive to Disney+. The rest should also be available on Apple TV.

YesAsia was ~$73 for Captain America BNW for me so I’d say that $72 is about as good as you’re gonna get for a preorder.

Hyped that this is already announced, bring on F4 First Steps!

Saw what you did and did the same thing. Saving an extra $40 is totally worth an extra 2 months for BNW.

It should be fine, i do it slightly different than you tho, i actually buy it directly from amazon jp using tenso's shipping address and my unique member number so once it arrives to their facility they tag me to pay for shipping to the US.

The way buyee.jp does it is buy it from Rakuten. Once it arrives to buyee.jp warehouse they notify me that it is ready to ship. Then I get the chance to pick what shipping I want.

BTW, buyee.jp is Tenso, Inc. Looks to be the same companies doing the same thing.

I'm one of the slow kids. Can you (or anyone) please explain to me how to save $40 on these?
