I'm in a location of the UK where no cinemas are showing this film - I'm praying Universal do an expansion in the next week or two!
As for the 4K, I'm praying it has the full intermission. It probably will, given it has a score they'd likely be hesitant to cut out, but given the screener only has a 1 minute intermission, we'll see... |

It's a good film, but I don't think it should be the Best Picture frontrunner. |

Voting doesnt start until 2/11 and ends on 2/18 so there's still time for Corbet and Co to run up the numbers, but I just dont see it happening with its runtime. |

I think the race circles back to The Brutalist vs Anora, which was the original expectation from a few months back. There's probably more passion and love for Anora in the film industry, but there's no denying that The Brutalist is the bigger cinematic achievement. Right now it's in a really good spot for Director, Actor, Cinematography and Score, which is a good combination for a Best Picture Winner imo. |

BRUTALIST takes Best Picture, Director, Actor, and multiple "below the line" (hate that term lol) wins, while ANORA gets Best Actress—not giving up on Mikey Madison just yet!—and Original Screenplay. And I could see either one getting Editing. Honestly though, they are tied for my favorite of 2024 and I'd be equally happy with either. That said, THE BRUTALIST feels more like a Best Picture choice to me, in a "grand 3.5 hour epic that actually persevered despite the many obstacles against it" kind of way. |

The Brutalist will be released digitally on February 25. The intermission will be included and that’ll surely also apply to the disc release.
