Anybody gotten this yet? General thoughts on it's quality?

Nope. Refuse to buy any Criterion release in a plastic case that I can't inspect in person due to Criterion having dolts handling their products, sending out damaged ones, then charging you for a replacement for a product they damage before leaving their warehouse. Plus, Crapazon taking over a month to deliver, despite having Prime, and therefore not able to exchange or return.

Watched The Three Musketeers last nite, it looked and sounded great. Ordered from amazon, no scratches or damage to my set. Pitch issue was fixed and looks like the day for night issue was corrected as well. Certainly the best it's ever looked as I've owned this on VHS, DVD and the horrible old blu two-fer that I couldn't even sit thru so I went back to the DVD.

I was very pleased with the presentation thus far. Did not review any supplements as of yet. The film was still a delight. On to The Four Musketeers tonight!!

Yeah, I'm glad I sold my SC releases and picked this up. No complaints with the picture quality here, appreciate the corrected audio, and I like the packaging.

Haven't watched my copy yet, but good to hear. I used my $50 Criterion reward on this set.

I generally like Criterion's packaging/art. Not sure why they seem to do a better job than the majority of boutique labels that don't use the original art.

Great! I haven’t watched them in full yet but both 4Ks look really nice. Had lowered my expectations after Withnail and I had some nasty blocking in the highlights but the two Musketeers are much better in that regard. You can buy with confidence!

They’re smart in retaining a coterie of design artists who are genuinely conceptually aware & ingenious in conveying artistic appreciation of the respective films.

Invariably, other boutique labels go down the trad & tedious head shots route. I refuse to buy anything featuring Tony Stella artwork anymore.

Stella is really talented, but his compositions end up being so generic.

What replacements has Criterion charged you for? I've had them replace damaged cases, art lithos, I think even a booklet once...and they never charged me.

It is a pain to take pictures of the damaged items (especially disc scratches), and I've even had to have replacement discs replaced, but they've done it for free every time.

Amazon keeps sending copies of "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" were each copy the cover is never in all the way and therefore gets crushed and torn. When I emailed them about the two copies I had on hand, they said they wanted $5 via PayPal.

It's the same transfer with corrected audio pitch.

I mean encoding wise, is one better than the other? SC and Criterion have both had issues in that area.

I don't see any issues with the Criterion encoding nor have I seen anyone claim that it does. The SC disc I owned and I don't remember it having a big issue either tbh.
