God, that's beautiful. I want a poster of that.

ZOMBIE_FLESH_EATERS_FRONT_BACK_1020x714.jpg

The reverse artwork for Zombie is absolutely incredible—easily the best among all the Arrow editions. I really wish that had been the one featured on the Arte Original. It’s odd they call it the “Arte Original” but don’t actually use the original Italian artwork.

That said, at least it’s available on the standard limited edition (though I’m not sure if it’s on the reversible sleeve of the Arte version).

Edit: Ended up going with the Arte Original. I just couldn’t bring myself to buy that purple one, even if it ends up costing me more...

I prefer the Zombie title and Worm Face close-up poster. I’ll stick with Blue Underground’s version. Saving my cash for Fright Night Part II. I’m trying to avoid buying titles I already own on the same format.

The flickering on that release was irritating. I was going to pre order the Arrow but wondered if it will have the same issue.

Yeah, calling it Arte Originale is a bit naughty when it's actually the UK VHS art, lol. Also makes the lack of such an option for City of the Living Dead all the stranger. I do love that UK cover for Zombie, though, so I'm a happy clam.

Glad we got the Italian art on the reverse. Best of both words! I might hold onto the BU disc for the US art.

The purple looks like Zombie Flesh Eaters From Beyond, and it sets off my pineal gland in a bad way.

I'm thinking the Arte Originale is gonna sell out like hotcakes on this title......

Aaaaannnnnd...pre-ordered direct from Arrow UK.

I don't really think the purple suits or relates to the film at all. This and City of the Living Dead have some of Arrow's most underwhelming (to put it nicely) original art I've seen from them in the past decade or so. I'm not usually one to care that much about artwork but yeah...

Eugenio Ercolani was talking about his new commentary on Facebook and said, "The version I worked on was pre-grading." Maybe this will have different colour timing to the Blue Underground disc?

I honestly don't mind the purple, even if it was my ex's favorite color!

Me too. There was no way I wasn't going to order this version. I absolutely love ZOMBIE and it's easily my favorite Fulci movie. I also have the Blue Underground 4K and the 2-disc Ultimate Edition Blu-ray release they did and they're not going anywhere.

I've wondered why they haven't made their own grading changes to masters they've received like with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 where Turbine did their own grade. I definitely wouldn't complain if Arrow decided to make some adjustments to any of Vinegar Syndrome's grades. I have serious doubts about the authenticity of a lot of grades from a number of labels. If more labels do something like what Celluloid Dreams are doing (emulating photochemical film and using prints as a color reference) for their grades/regrades, then bring it on!

It would be nice for Arrow to announce whether this is a new transfer or just repurposing the BU transfer. I am probably going to hold-off until it's known whether or not this is a new transfer.

So people are genuinely trusting Arrow not to deliver a dinged up set?

I think it was 6 bashed up copies I went through of their store-exclusive Buttgereit set before I gave up and just kept the last one.

Is there recent precedent for receiving stuff from them that isn't damaged? I'd love the original art version but I just can't bring myself to trust them.

Okay, you guys talking about Arrows poor shipping has me worried about ordering from them. I'm very picky about the condition of my items. Maybe I should just cancel my order getting the exclusive?

I've gotten single discs from them in a box with tons of air bags. I've gotten Limited Editions shipped in padded envelopes. Its a gamble.

You can read Geoff's review of the New York Ripper disc here where he goes into the fake wide color gamut:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=293

I'm assuming this is the same remaster of Zombie that Blue Underground used. I might just settle for keeping my Blue Underground blu-ray. If this was a brand new 4k scan and remaster I'd feel confident in getting the Arrow. But considering as always you don't even get a blu-ray from Arrow with the UHD, their releases are getting too pricey. $63 for the art originale from Arrow, though I wouldn't buy direct from them because if there's a scratched disc, they won't just ship a replacement; they make you send your whole set back even if the case is undamaged, and risk a new set arriving worse. Lousy customer service.

Even from Diabolik for the standard it's $50 with tariff fee, insurance, tax, and shipping.

I do like their art orginale art better though. It's a shame they punish everyone else who doesn't order direct from them by giving us crappier artwork. The standard art is pretty lousy imo. If they had used the reverse case art for the standard edition slipbox art it wouldn't have been so bad, but the purple cover is not fitting.

Also, from the sound of how bad their video essay was for Deep Blue Sea, and considering how bad some of the writings have been in recent booklets, comparing those older films to modern standards, I have no interest in those fluff pieces and writings.

Too bad because I love this film, but I might be passing on this. I'll have to give it some thought. Blue Underground's blu-ray was solid.

If the Zombi 2 art was used for the wide release, I think many would just opt for the standard instead of the store exclusive. I don’t even like the Flesh Eaters title, but it IS original (for UK, at least) and better than the wide release. Wish it was just Zombie or Zombi 2, the way 88 Films put out Zombi 3 instead of Zombie Flesh Eaters 2…

I hope the decision is made for me and this gets a j card instead of a full slip. Do not want to hide the spine that says “Zombi 2” because I will be displaying it case side out.

As much as I prefer the original art (like everyone else), there's no chance in hell I'm ordering directly from Arrow just to get a damaged set.
That’s a nice BD set, I’ll be holding to it even if this Arrow UHD surpasses the BU UHD.

If you're picky, then it's a huge risk.

I've only once had an undamaged box set (the first time I ordered one from them I believe) and my experience since then has only solidified my feeling that that was a lucky one-off. As a rule I no longer order from them directly (I made an exception for Buttgereit as there was no other way of getting it and I'm a fan).

What you need to understand is that when you order from Arrow, you're not really ordering from Arrow, you're ordering from The Hut Group. Your items will be packaged and shipped in the same warehouses that pack and ship protein powder and cosmetics.

They don't care about your fancy Limited Edition boxset. They have no comprehension that they're handling valuable collectors items. It's just another product to them. No different.

And the customer service (you'll be dealing with multiple Hut Group employees based in Africa) will probably shave a few years off your life if you have to deal with them in the aftermath.

I'm sure some people will be along shortly who swear blind that they've never had an issue, but I always assume they just have different standards than me (which is fine).

Put it this way, if it comes damaged and I’ve paid six pounds postage, which is very high for a 4k disc, they are getting it back.
