I got the Arrow edition and am probably gonna get this edition as well, does that mean I still need to get the German edition to get all of the special features?
Yeah.

No, not exclusively. They work with various authoring houses "of the highest quality". They’re somewhat reluctant to actually mention anything, so unless David retweets the announcement nothing’s guaranteed.

What you really need to do is to get the 2000 Dune series from the Syfy channel. It is better than Game of Thrones and does not last for 8 seasons.

I think the Dune 2000 series is only the standard TV edit and not the Director's Cut of the three episodes.

The earlier "HD" releases from different countries might have trimmed versions of the DC, but they all are encoded at 25fps.

The pre-order for the Dune (1984) Limited Edition Sandbox edition is up on The Atomic Movie Store. That's where I bought my The Neverending Story 4K UHD (1984) Imprint's Never Ending Set.

this is hard…
I want it, but at the same time I’d be buying it to sit on my shelf.

Thanks for the heads up. My order just placed. Something tells me that Atomic will have the best price since no shipping charge and no tariff charge. They beat ordering direct from Imprint by about $15.

Add in the Amazon, UPS, and FedEx drivers to that.

They don't all do it, thank goodness most of them are civilized, but those pesky few can drive you mad when you see their nonchalance on your cameras. Kind of makes you long for the days you could go to a store and actually pick the items off the shelf yourself.

I don't believe it's theatrical art, but it's not super new. The same poster was used for the old Universal Blu-ray from 2010 and for their 2006 DVD release.

If it is or happens to be based on theatrical art, I'm sure someone will correct me.

DUNE 4K has its Amazon ASIN already, what I find interesting is the temporary covers Amazon gives to Imprint titles, this one in particular seems from a distance some sort of Lynchian Arrakian flea case to store your spice pellets and other mind altering substances.

Hello all.

I love the old Dune and have the awesome Arrow steelbook with both the 4k and the bluray. However I would love to have the extended TV cut with all the extra scenes. What is the cheapest current way to acquire the extended TV cut? Hopefully getting this expensive Imprint edition isnt the answer!

Thank you all!

While still kind of expensive this release would be your best option.

Thank you for the feedback.

After shipping and taxes, your solution is about 60$ less than the imprint set. I'll have to go line by line and compare your selection with the content in the Imprint set. The packaging and swag looks cool on the imprint set, but I'm not so sure I'd want to spend an extra 60$ just for that.

Thanks again!

Just preordered.

Own the early 2000s DVD releases, with the theatrical and extended television versions. Would love to see both in (much) better quality.

Never seen the feature-length documentary nor read the 1984 comic book. Should be interesting.

Hope the set’s worth the price tag.

Surprised none of the boutiques have tried getting the Alternative Edition Redux by SpiceDiver onto a disc.

Wouldn't be the first fanedit to make it to a physical release.
