Sampled this one a bit, and grain is nice and healthy. There is some inherent softness to some shots, but it's possibly due to the source and less to do with any type of grain management, at least to my eyes. Detail remains strong throughout the scenes I sampled. Very pleased.

I went off this very site and the fact that a slipcover wasn't included in the information that's included under the picture and listed under packaging. At the time "40 Year Old Virgin" and "Meet the Parents" didn't have either, though "40 Year Old Virgin" has since been updated and "Meet the Parents" still doesn't have a slipcover noted. Usually that information is accurate, even for a movie that is months away from release, but not this time, which I don't blame them for since they're going on little information as well. Though I did write "Doesn't look like this will have a slipcover..." because the movies hadn't come out yet and thus information couldn't be verified at the time I deleted my original post because people are getting slipcovers with their order now and I didn't want to continue to spread misinformation. My bad if anyone didn't order because of my post (though you still can).

Orbit shows both movies with slipcovers, although for some unknown reason they are overcharging for Meet The Parents, so I left that out of today's order.

I got the Halloween Trilogy 4K with a slipcover from Gruv this week and it was in a poly bubble mailer.

The studio is probably just slow to send the 4K files to the retailers. The digital code redeems 4K on MA (though not sure of they have 4K playback).

Thanks to those who shared the initial impressions. I pre-ordered it as a result. Watching now and am fairly impressed with the job Universal has done here. I enjoy this movie a lot, it's so funny.

My copy from GRUV had a big scratch on it. Watched it this afternoon and it played fine. You never know how these scratched discs will play!

It's universal so it'd most definitely be the old disc
