Caligula is worse than Blade Runner and Showgirls combined, how many versions of the POS does a person need?

I did suggest to Tiberius when they were prepping their release that they ask Alexander Tuschinski for Tinto's cut, lol, but obviously nothing came of it.
It is a real shame that Tuschinski's workprint never saw the light of day. I assume that this was not due to Tiberius' will, but rather to the fact that Tuschinski's authorization was withdrawn. My absolute dream would have been the 1979 Cannes version, which didn't run 210 minutes as is often claimed, but is said to have contained a few minutes of additional material by Bob Guccione. However, I doubt that Potemkine managed to find it.

Alex is the only one preventing the workprint from seeing the light of day. As for the version that was shown privately at Cannes, Ranjit Sandhu's website claims it was the same 156 min version we're all familiar with, no additional footage. I also asked Tom about it once and he denied its existence.

It was Alex himself who claimed in his German audio commentary that there was a Cannes version that was a few minutes longer. Does it actually still exist? I have no idea.

I told you there was another. I've confirmed it by another independent witness. 45 years apart.

Potemkine has just made the following statement on their FB page about the three versions of their upcoming set:

"There will be the 1979 version with porn inserts.
A very rare version, "Io Caligula", which is the Italian remount by Franco Rosselini and the "ultimate cut" version from 2023."

I hope the OG version and Io, Caligola don't share a disc.

I hope so too. The documentary "Istintobrass" alone lasts 94 minutes.

Noticed the Amazon listing has been updated to "UHD + Blu-ray + 2 Blu-ray Bonus," so seems this'll be a 4-disc set.

EDIT: Io, Caligola is SD only.
