Ahh, that cover art is a thing of beauty and already one of my favorites in the collection. Can't wait to have this.

I love that the controversy trying to be generated here is that it's not yellow enough

Yowza, you weren't kidding, that clip is really poorly compressed, even when you switch up to 4K.

The movie itself was the absolute grainiest 35mm film I ever saw in my life, so the actual grain is wonderful to see for the first time on home video, but I really hope Criterion figures out how to compress it properly on the disc.

Would've been interesting if Criterion were to have gotten Cruise & Kidman in their NY office for a brand new interview looking back at the film!

or even Cate Blanchett discussing her involvement, but there might not have been a huge amount to say on how it all went down.

I think Criterion is going to release it in the UK as well. WB made it very apparent they had zero interest in releasing EYES WIDE SHUT 4K themselves, unlike BARRY LYNDON, which was never licensed out to Criterion even on BD.

Anyway, if Criterion doesn't find a way to botch the encode, this should be one of the best releases of the year.

I'm assuming we'll get the altered audio for that scene.

They had to change the music for the DVD, after complaints about the inclusion of a Hindu sacred chant in Pook's music in the theatrical prints.

Every home video version has used the altered music, as far as I know.

Fwiw, I read a comment about a 35mm screening at TIFF that was proofed by Jan Harlan and Christianne Kubrick noting that the colours were much more saturated than the digital transfers and that Ziegler's party scene was more golden, which is seemingly lacking in Criterion's website clip at least.
