The camera was confused, couldn't capture exactly what was going on. and told the story as the first person. yeah it was very shaky, yet the movie was great it is definitely worth the release on BD. So paramount please wake up, and forget HDDVD.
they are already talking abut a sequel. other wise they wouldn't have had the thing after the credits that they had.

It will as soon as Paramount see the sales. I check the charts from The Digital Bits and it looks like HD-DVD has had it. I want to see Cloverfield, maybe tomorrow.

I movie was ok, but the audio was insane. I hope it comes out on Blu-ray, otherwise I'll have to get an HD-A3 for $19.99. (That should be the price by the time Cloverfield comes out)

I really enjoyed what I saw of the movie; unfortunately I'm one of those poor wimps that gets motion sickness easily. I had to walk out about 2/3 of the way through to avoid hurling. . .

Some of it was filmed hand held. some was filmed with a standard camera set-up but frames were taken out here and there to make it look jerky as if it were hand held.

You know what, those who say they can't see this movie on Blu are those who haven't seen it... PQ is great in this movie, when they transfer it it will look even better I hope. AQ is nothing I have heard in years, I had chills constantly, last time I think I heard something like that was that one scene in Air Force 1.

Overall I think it was a very solid movie, blu it is a must. So far the best movie of '08

I can't see this movie on BD. And yes, I have seen it. It was comedy-horror at best and more shakey than The Blair Witch Project on speed.

The folks infront of me at the cinema left and I almost barfed a few times due to motion sickness from the stupidly shakey camera view.

No video camera would have lasted that and no battery would have lasted that long. Period.

I think the audio for Cloverfield will really shine on a good sound setup.

My camcorder's mfg battery last 1 hour and a half. My other mfg's battery last 4 hours on Hi-Def recording.

Longer lasting batteries do exist.

I do question the movie's length running on camcorder battery too. But I'm just saying the longer battery do exist. I also want to know if the entire movie was recorded on SD memory, if so, then why that dude say where's my tape, did you record over my tape....

************* MORE SPOILERS ******************

And if it was recorded on SD memory, surely we wouldn't keep getting snippets of what was on the "tape" before and there's no way they'd have been able to record 84 mins of standard def on an existing SD card, let alone 84 mins of HD!

Also, there would be loads of seperate files for each start and stop of the record button instead of one big file.

Just a few things they should have thought around when deciding on this concept.

Either way, I don't think it was a particulalrly good or special movie and it made me wanna throw up.

I believe Paramount has the rights to Cloverfield so it will be awhile before it turns blu.

It all depends on if Paramount goes back to supporting Blu Ray first off and then from there it might not be until August or September before it could come out on DVD.

I believe Cloverfield is from Paramount so probably not til the end of the year at the earliest. Unless we are lucky and Paramount switches quickly.

Even if it was coming to BLU, why would you think it would be the quickest release from theaters to dvd?
