Going Broke on March 11

Yeah, March 11th is going to be great. We haven't had a release day like this in a while...a day where you can walk out the store with 10 new releases in hand. I'm really looking forward to several on that day. ID4 is probably my most eagerly anticipated hi-def title and I, Robot isn't too far behind in that respect. Out of the movies I haven't seen yet, I'm probably looking forward to seeing Hitman and No Country for Old Men the most. I'm not sure why I never got around to seeing the movie Gattaca so I'll be curious to see that one as well.

From the commercials, the 45 seconds of "No Country for Old Men" that I have seen look worthy of the purchase...... I RARELY blind buy..... I've heard enough about this film, and I can tell it's my type of film. It would have cost my wife and I about $25 to see it in the theater (o.k. tickets are about $10-12 now right? been awhile since I've been to the theater!) and I really wanted to see this one in the theater, but my kid was born, and that screwed up my open-schedule!

yeah same here i dont even bother with the movies here $12 per ticket - a drink or something and your still at $24

Why are some of you buying everything there is on Blu? are you buying all those movie just because they're on Blu or what?? that's what it seem like. As for me I only buy movies that I know I'll like.

I don't know anything about Hitman..... it's on the netflix queue now though.....


I only buy movies I know I'd be willing to watch at least 3 or 4 times....... I haven't seen all of my movies that many times, but I'm willing to watch them at any time... (there's only so much time in the day Charlie!!!)

i agree with you to a point.

I see some of the absurd collections from people on here with 200, 300+ bd's and it just seems really hard for me to comprehend how one person can like all of those movies enough to buy. because to me, out of all the bd's out there right now, which is still VERY slim compared to sd dvd, i can see buying maybe 75 or so. thats all i can find that i'd be willing to pay 20bucks or so a pop for.

other than that, i'd just be buying a blu ray because its available. a few blind buys maybe or something. but thats it.

but maybe my movie taste isn't quite as eclectic as others. i only see 75 or so "must have" bd's out there worth owning with re-watchability.

But hey, to each its own, right?!
