If you want to get ultra technical, the PS3 is just fine. The few missing items aren't that big of a deal. They are just nice "little" add-ons.

I hate this thread. Last night I fired up my 360 and started playing Oblivion on my new character. And I ordered the latest strat guide for it too, comes today.

Think now that I'm back understanding the controls, I'll play my mage guy. He's like lvl 29 and kicks some butt.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the RROD. I must have bought 1 of the 200 good ones way back when.

Anyway, I'm torn between revisiting my mage since he's so far along or playing the warrior guy who may be more fun overall. At least the armor/weapons looks nice.

Are thieves any fun to play? Or is it just the occasional crappy item snagged?

Matters have you ever played the brotherhoods missions, or thief guild missions?

The assassin missions are very fun.

I'm working on the main quest right now--went back and played my mage.

There's so much crap in this game.

Well met . . .

Actually I have something funny to tell you,
my crusader can never be part of the brotherhood
because I killed the speaker of the brotherhood,
when he visited my house, so the blade of woe
is then allowed removal from your inventory.

The easiest way to play thru the game is pick a Kajiit (They have the night-eye power) and then pick at least the marksman and the sneak skills. As long as the enemy doesn't see you when you are in sneak mode your first arrow will more than likely kill the enemy.

As for the Blade of Woe, once you complete the Dark Brotherhood quests and the Black Hand stuff you can take the Blade of Woe out of your inventory.

Or kill the guy that visits you at night, if he dies it severs your connection to the dark brotherhood, and you sell all his stuff too, I have his dead naked corpse in the 2nd floor of my now no longer possessed evil mansion with creepy brick wall.

My mage has this in his inventory and today I was trying to figure out why. It's been like 18 months since I played.

Today, I put in about 6 hours on him. Crap.

The next character that says "well met" or "Oh....it's you" is getting a staff bolt right up their butt.

Finally getting all the controls and stuff down again. I accidently got on a horse and the old lady started beating me. I was arrested.

Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question but I just bought GOTY of Oblivion and I am curious if the main menu actually says Game of the year edition or not.
Thanks.

if you have the goty edition, check your quests. i dont remember what its called been a few months since i played. check where you read about your quests. it wont right out say what they are. only one i can remember is something about a door on an island. plus there is a map marker in the middle of the water thats somewhere in the south. it shows up but shows you havent found it yet

I love this game, but it's hard for me to not cheat and grab 100% Cameleon gear. I kinda wish invisibility had never been added to the game.

Is that something you find or buy? I just found some top that has 20% invis on it, but don't use it as I'd have to take off my magic robe.

Anyone else like buying houses?

Chameleon gear can be created the same way other magic items are.

Gear creation and spell creation both have lots of loopholes, lots of ways to abuse the system to be way overpowered with respect to the environment.

Ah okay. I haven't got to that part of the game I guess.

I'm doing the main quest (closed about 3 gates thus far).
