How can Best Buy be the worst place to buy BDs? I don't get it. I have 4 Best Buys near me. All 4 of them have solid selections of BDs in stock. Their prices may not be competitive with Amazon, but you can't compare a B&M store with an online store. If price is the only thing that you judge a store on, Amazon is the ONLY place where you should buy BDs. I for one would like to be able to run down to a neighborhood store, and browse through their selections and see what I might want to take home right away. You have to know how to shop at Best Buy to make the purchasing experience better. Here is how: Pay attention to their weekly ad. You can pick up some good deals once in a while. You can't simply just walk into the store, and expect all titles to be 40% off. Join their Rewards membership. They send out 10%-12% off coupons once in a while. That was how I picked up my BD-30 player for $50 cheaper than anyone else. B&M stores have their advantages. For one: try buying a Wii console for $249 from Amazon. Good luck. I got mine from Circuit City this weekend. Cheers.

tmok, I agree with you for the most part. I for one do buy more of my movies through amazon than buying them from BB. I for one am a Rewards Zone member too! I agree with you regarding going in and being able to pick something up and watch it today; there's something said about instant gratification. The problem that I have with BB and CC isn't the selection; all of the B&M stores in my area (Baltimore, MD) have a good selection. The problem that I have is the prices. More to the point, I don't mind spending a few extra dollars for a title. When I factor in a $5 savings on amazon and add shipping, its usually better for me to buy it locally. But, I am talking about when prices are $7-$10 more, then add tax, because MD tax just went to 6% when it used to be 5%. Take that into consideration and buy the time you buy 3 BDs, you could have bought another one if you were to purchase from amazon. I'll close by saying this: Fox reduced the catalog titles by about $5 to $10. But, why in the hell is BB still selling them for $34.99? That's the part that I don't like.

I picked target. They just have a terrible selection, let alone no sales ever. Except I did pick up 3:10 to Yuma and Simpsons from them on a BOGO. But other than that. They suck. Go Amazon.com!!

I also forgot to add, BB has a nice sewlection but there prices are crazy!! I go to BullMoose Music down the street from me and most prices are competitive with Amazon and if they have no title they will order it and you have it in about 2 days. They accept all Manufacturer coupons, better title selection than most stores (including BB), and they sell used titles at like half the price!! this place is great!! Oh yeah, and for the Reward Zone members, they also have that too!!

As far as I'm concerned, Wal*Mart is the worst place to buy ANYTHING.....

My wife and I were at a store right next to a Wal*Mart, so she decided MAYBE they'd have a deal on Diapers.... anyways.... long story short, I hadn't been in a Wal*Mart in maybe 7 or 8 years, and was surprised because it had concrete floors, and resembled a Cosco type of deal, but the whole "shopping" experience, and the lines etc. were exactly as I remembered.... NEVER going again!

Out of that list I vote CC. Their selection and prices both suck. But even worse then them is FYE. Their prices are completely rediculous. Higher then MSRP a lot of times. I wont even go in there.

Again, for poll options:
None of the above.

I don't buy at brick-and-mortar stores, with one exception, but it's not a least favorite. So-far I don't really have a least favorite, of the few on-line places I've bought from.

I agree, Wm is what WM is..why whine about it. Its cheap, they offer a lower price so those are issues I take into consideration when I have to wait in line. If I need a BD, they are always in stock as they are locked up

Barnes and Noble sells ABOVE MSRP. I saw Departed and 50 first dates for 46.99 at wait for it, 30% off. haha it was the funniest thing I ever saw. So normally its like 65? Who in their right mind would pay 47 dollars for a movie thats normally 24

Target: because the selection sucks, and all the prices are $30 or more
Wal-Mart: because the selection sucks. Mine only carries about 20 titles, and all are $29.99

Last edited by Schrute Farms; 04-04-2008 at 02:08 PM. Reason: Mis-typed Wal mart price
