It's up to a $7.50 value, depending on your market that could be around 50% of the face value of one adult admission. I missed the days when the vouchers went up to $10.50.

True, but it still money off my ticket, and I'm going to see the movie period. And most GOOD blu rays are around 30 bucks, this package seems like a good 1 time buy.

Studios partner with a third party agency like Hollywood Media, Inc. that manages and issues the vouchers and the studio buys them at a substantial savings and distributes them via the DVD/BD. The movie theater is reimbursed face value, and so using your $7.50 voucher will help TDK theatrical figures. It's a win-win for studios, since they pay a small premium and get to charge you more, which increases perceived value of the DVD/BD release, etc. It's why they do it so often, to get consumers to buy the new DVD with 2 seconds of new footage again and help ensure people will go see the movie. |

The HD DVD release should have a Blu-ray logo instead of an HD DVD logo...
![]() In all seriousness though, someone posted a link to the rear cover art of "V For Vendetta" and WB went out of there way to explain that only Profile 1.1 machines were capable of playing the IME feature... so I suspect that BB will also have a similar comment. You also add in the addition of the "first 7 minutes" of "The Dark Knight", and the rear cover art should be even more different. Similar layout though... ~Alan |

I am still kind of going back and forth about whether to buy the $18.95 plain version or the $33.95 set. I am going to go see Dark Knight so the $7.50 ticket can come off of the $33.95, but the extra nick knacks in the box are not really interesting to me.
So what it really comes down to is the packaging. If the packaging was going to be really special I would probably be willing to pay more for it. I like the way it looks, but I can't tell at all what it is made out of. Does anyone have any information on whether this is going to be a solidly put together box (like say the Rome TV Series boxes) or if it will just be the weak ass cardboard shell case? |
