i noticed a great joke today on like my 40th run of the series.

i'm sure you all know about it but it slipped by me!

in series 2, episode 1, when Michael leaves with George Michael, he is worried that nobody knows he's left. So he calls Lucille pretending to be Michael's doctor. he says "This is Dr Bluman"

I thought that was great foreshadowing for later when Tobias becomes a blue man

classic show.

They do great foreshadowing with Buster's hand like when he thinks he is in Mexico but it is really the housekeepers house and he sees his hand-chair; he says "I never knew I could miss a hand so much."

I think way early on you can here a report on the news where a a man's hand was bit off by a seal.

I also love when Maybe is on her role of saying "Mary me" and she accidentally says it to Michael

Was just watching Jack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead (2004) again, and somebody in the end credits towards the end, like an assistant or something, was called Steve Holt.

STEVE HOLT!

Gob: Hey, can you do me a favor? A young neighborhood tough by the name of Steve Holt will be dropping by, and...
Michael: Your son?
Gob: According to him.
Michael: And a DNA test.
Gob: I hear the jury's still out on science.

[During a work-out montage with Michael]
Steve Holt: Don't ask "can I?," ask "I can!"
Steve Holt: You can control your bladder when you're dead!
Steve Holt: No blood, no oil!
Steve Holt: There's no "I" in "win"!

Quote:
The push for an Arrested Development movie is beginning to feel a bit like one of Gob Bluth’s magic tricks -I’m sorry, “illusions.” It starts off promising, dazzles fans of the series for a brief moment…and then the bottom falls out.

A few months back, the Arrested Development movie appeared to be gaining momentum: Mitchell Hurtwitz, the show’s creator, was reportedly busy working on the script and Will Arnett went on-record claiming the movie would be made this year.

Now we’re hearing reports that the project has been pushed back…yet again.

Speaking with MTV, Jason Bateman, who played Michael Bluth in the TV series, restated the tentative schedule for the film: “Nothing new. We’re hoping for the end of the year.”
However, the actor went on to clarify one factor in the delay: Hurtwitz has a new sitcom in the works…starring Will Arnett.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the still untitled Hurtwitz project has “Arnett as a rich Beverly Hills jackass who falls in love with a charitable tree-hugging woman who can’t stand his lifestyle or values.”

“[The new] show with Arnett has pushed [Arrested] another few months,” Bateman said.

If we received a banana for every time we’ve heard that the Arrested Development movie was going to be pushed back another few months, we’d have enough bananas to open our own Frozen Banana stand by now (get it?).

Bateman was still optimistic that the cast and creators will get the Arrested Development movie into theaters in the near future – “It’s still coming.”

Are you as optimistic as Bateman? Or is your interest beginning to wane?

I think it should have come out a year or two after the series ended if they really wanted to do one...I'll still see the movie if/when it ever comes out because I loved the show, but my interest in it has completely drained over the last few years...I've pretty much stopped caring

Michael: (from jail) Tell Gob I have a hard cot waiting for him right here.
Lucille: You'd do that to your own brother?
Michael: (pause) I said COT mother.

lol

Michael: I don't wanna talk nonsense to Bob Loblaw

Michael: Get rid of the Seaword
Lucille: I'm not going ANYWHERE!

I'm still not sure there's much of a story to be told via a movie. The show is about as perfect as a TV-comedy can get, they don't need to do a movie.

Sorry for reviving this topic, but I would love for AD to be on Blu-ray Disc, the HDNet AD episodes look fabulous in HD.

The show was cancelled because people weren't too bright to know where the jokes were, still, I'm very happy with the three seasons I could watch it over and over again, and not get tired of it.

Gob (Will Arnett) "Yeah, the guy wearing the $4,000 suit is holding the elevator for the guy who doesn't make that in four months. Come on."

All seasons are available on DVD, but imho, it doesn't make justice, this needs to be released on Blu-ray.

Tambor: 'Arrested Development film within year'

Quote:
effrey Tambor has said that a script for the highly anticipated Arrested Development movie "may" be complete.

Earlier this year, Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz told DS that he and co-writer Jim Valley were beginning to work on the feature film adaptation.

Tambor, who portrayed both the manipulative George Bluth and his kindly twin brother Oscar on the cult hit, has now claimed that Hurwitz and Valley continue to work steadily on the project.

"Here's what I know and it's the truth, rather than any hype, and I'm pleased to say it," the actor said, according to BlackBook magazine. "The script is being written even as we speak, and it may even be completed."

He continued: "I think all systems are go, and I think it's very possible that you and I could be talking about the making of this film or even it being made by this time next year.

"It's all going forward and we have a better opening now, it's the perfect opening. I think it would be foolish not to take advantage. We have a better fanbase now than we did then."

Tambor further explained that one highlight of working on Arrested Development was getting to play two opposing characters like George and Oscar, which he revealed happened only by chance.

"Oh, I loved it," he said. "There's a story about that. I had a terrible wig for George when they did the younger George, so we were trying on wigs one day, and we had it real long, and all of a sudden, I think somehow I walked out of the make-up trailer and Mitch Hurwitz was there, and he said, 'Hold it, don't move'.

"He called the writers over, and right there the brother was born. Oscar wasn't even conceived until then. And that was the thing about Mitch and the series - it had a very serendipitous nature. It was tightly written, it wasn't all improv, but I mean the fact that a character could just be born, just like that."

His co-star Jason Bateman recently touted Hurwitz and Valley's screenplay as "incredible" and promised that the movie will be "everything [fans] would want it to be and more".

True statement. I have watched the series 4 times through and I still find it as funny, if not funnier than the first time I watched it.

That is an awesome story regarding the inception of the character Oscar.
Michael: "Oh my god. You're Oscar."
Oscar: "Dot com"
