Default A Space Odyssesy...

Even though I love 2001 I can understand why some people just don't like it or are bored by it. I've watched it about four times between my SD and BD and I'm blown away every single time. The ending is brilliant and your mind is just transfixed on what really happened to Dave Bowman. But I'm pretty sure most of the people I know would be restless in their seat ten minutes into it.

The blu-ray owns by the way

To each his own.

I was a little upset with my purchase of The Fifth Element, I bought the first run and it sucked.

I also HATE the inside of the Harry Potter gift set. I was hoping for regular cases instead of paper ones.

I regret buying: First Sunday , I KNow Who Killed Me, and Premonition

Lucky I read your post on the Harry Potter discs, because I was thinking about buying the special collector's giftset too. Now, I'll just get them sperately.

I am very cautious before buying. I have done one blind buy so far, and that was Across the Universe. That one was a keeper.

I have bought only those movies that I know are good or just want, seen at the theater, or already own on DVD. Anything else, I rent before buying. I have bought movies after renting and thus adding $4 for renting to the purchase price. But it's worth it. I am happy with what I've purchased so far.

Scary Movie : it's funny because I remember I really liked this movie back when I saw it in theater, but now it just doesn't seem that good to me anymore. It's stranges how time changes your view on a certain movie, huh?. And not to mention, the PQ is somewhat terrible.

Gattaca : It was a decent movie but I really don't see myself watching it again because there's not much replay value on it. This will probably be my last blind-buy of a these type of movie.

On the other hand, Blind-buying for me has resulted in some great buy like:

I am legend
Enchanted
Hitman
Rambo and National Treasure 2 (hopefully, lol)

What firmware are you running? I have the same player and LFODH played flawlessly, and looked great I might add.

This is easy. I have a 3 way tie with Blade Runner, Close Encounters, and Dracula. They were all blind buys and were all listed on Ebay before the movies had ended.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, rub it in lol

I'm actually running version 3.8 on my BDP-S300 and it doesn't play it. When I first tried playing it, my player was something like version 2.0 and then I upgraded to 3.8 and it still won't play. Very frustrating.

Aliens vs Predator Requiem - got my vote for waste of time. Was very dark, to the point that detail was lost.

Not one so far, but that's basically because I only buy titles that I really love and that have received good reviews.

I am not into the "Blind-buying" thing. I don't buy a movie just because it have been released on BD.
