I think all FPS on PS3 are nearly unplayable because of the controller. Also, less is more. I don't want to play a game with 200 noobs. All top FPS players play on PC anyway. Jack Trenton came off as a buffoon like usual. He's so terrible. I can't believe he still has a job. He's ingenuine and transparent. Did anybody ever believe him when he was touting Sony #1, Sony #1? CEO of Sony didn't when he said that the system was on life support for a long time. Jack was the crux of the problem with Sony being seen as arrogant. At least he's not shown up by Peter Moore every year now. The MS speakers are just as bad, but Jack is completely unlikable. His message this year could be boiled down to "be patient." Really? Is that what you're using to follow up the MS presentation? Umm... the system has been out 2 years. I can say that we've waited long enough and Sony continues to fail on delivery.

Well, that was almost a complete fanboy post.

- Netflix is providing BELOW DVD quality videos on that service.
- It seems you don't want to play a game that has more anything than X360 can handle...like 256 players.
- The PS3 hasn't been out for 2 years, yet.
- I believe if any of Sony's line up was a X360 exclusive you would love it.

MS got FFXIII and Sony got an improved version of Bioshock. A top rated game lost exclusivity from both sides. Besides that, MS didn't have much at all.

Sony had PSP, PS2 and PS3 COVERED. Plus, the massive improvements to the PS Store with the video section that allows you to transport digital titles to PC and PSP via PS3.

But youre entitled to your opinion and so am I. I dont think GEARS 2 is hyped up at all. Its a really great game and hopefully they dont f it up with the sequel.

Me, I just find it comical that somehow it's better than that's studio's flagship fps designed pretty much solely for the multiplayer game instead of telling a story.

The PS3 might not have the year headstart or the money marketing strongarm that Microsoft has, but I'd say that Sony has done a decent enough job of at least keeping Microsoft on their toes. If Microsoft had to shell out more money of their PC Windows coffers to pay for the 3rd party "exclusives" than so be it. The fact that Sony has had just about everything Microsoft has flung at it and is still chugging along is testament to that.

For every Halo out there, there's a Resistance, for every Gears of War, there's a SOCOM. Not to mention that Sony has managed to keep up with Microsoft's paid XBL service with their own free online service, as well as offer portability through the PSP.

With the PS3 now entering its 3rd gen games cycle, things can only look up so I'm optimistic.

and also people seem to forget that Sony has a PSP, xbox have no counter and to be honest I really don't wanna be taking a 360 on holiday (hell i dont want a 360 full stop.) at the end of the day sony have more bases covered. they have mmo's they have portable gaming, a movie service thats out NOW, (well I don't have it :revenge: ) and there console doesn't fail if it comes into contact with oxygen.

I already stream Netflix through my PC so this is not all that big of a deal. Besides, why would I care about streaming crap through a shoddy connection anyways when I got 1080p Blu-Ray's to watch? By the way, Sony's video service is already up and running as we speak. Last I heard, Microsoft's deal with Netflix is still slated for later this fall.

At least Jack Tretton is more humble about his company's position and having to appease PS3 fans in the best way possible. Unlike a certain other company who has nothing better to do than bash its competition with sound-bite sized flamebait. If you compare Jack's commentary over the past year versus Aaron Greenberg's within the last 3 months, you'll see who has a big lesson to learn in tact.

In the long run the new video content distribution arrangement is vastly more important than this or that games title. For one thing the appeal promises to be much wider since the audience for film and television outstrips the market for games.

Seriously, in two years most people will have stopped playing Final Fantasy. The DL service will be building momentum.

I agree with the point about the PSP -- that might be stronger than people think. Maybe Xbox will counter with the ability to display content on the Zune. I don't think Zune sold the 35 million units worldwide the PSP has so far.

I'd rather carry my Ipod Touch around than a PSP, it's way to bulky in comparison, but I agree the movie download service is a great thing. If the quality is good enough, then the coinvenence factor is certainly there.

I'm really disapointed about E3, there was no real big anounce. Yes it was cool to see RE5 running and Mirror Edge, Ratchet expansion... but I was expecting more, new revolutionnary use of the PS EYE, new games non announced 2-3 years ago (RE5, Killzone, ...) Where were Naugthy Dog? Team ICO?

The new movie download service is a nice feature, but who cares about a 6$ hd movie download rental when I have blu-rays rentals for less than 3$ with zip (canadian netfilx)... and you must buy or rent the SD version if you want to play it on a psp...

The point is not that we don't have great games, cause my wanted list is becoming huge... its only that E3 didn't told us much more of what we already knew...

Have to agree with your expectation disappointments. I was looking for something "more" as well.

E3 has done the same thing all the previous E3's had done. Provided a whole lot of nothing, with the exception of maybe the 360 FFXIII deal maybe providing me a WTF?!? moment. The TGS's are more interesting than E3's as of late, but that's just MHO.

Gears 2 is not the same as bang effect as the first, I think Resistance 2 is shaping up to deliver quit the goods. Im sure you have better place to post, you're probably here cuz you own a PS3 because MS just cant deliver any blu-ray technology to you on the 360.

overall i was happy with the sony offering! the new vid store rocks and put the 360 one to shame imo.

MAg looks great, will be great if they can oull it off! resistance 2 looks fantastic, as does resisitance on the psp. DC universe will be a great game too

I was kinda hoping for a imminent release of home, but seeing as home is one of sony's huge projects i can understand why they want to wait and make sure it is the complete package when it gets released and that there are no major issues with it.

Who cares about ff13 on the 360, we are still getting it, it will still rock balls and will still be one of the best rpg games ever. i understand the frustration about M$ buying everything up but sonmy has doen this before as well! many of you might not know this but GTA4 was going to be a 360 exclusive until sony ponied up! this happens all the time....it is business....the proof will be in the pudding when the 360 version of ff13 falls way short of the ps3 version, so it is all good
