I bought it mainly for the games, but got into Blu Ray because of it. Just like the PS2 was my introduction to DVD. I can't wait to play some really freat game coming out in the next several months. Already got Resistance 2 on pre-order.

I bought my ps3 for the games mgs4, ffxiii ect. also home sounded so cool.I was not really into movie collecting but I was excited for what blu-ray meant for games. Then to supplement my gaming experience I got an hdtv then I was able to watch spidey 3 in 1080p and that got me hooked then I joined this site got a receiver some speakers and about 50 blu movies and counting.I have said it before the ps3 opened the door for home theater and lossless audio heck I never cared what the specs where for movie before I get so much use out if it music, games, movies ,photo slide shows ,karaoke, voice chat and now tv shows and downloadable movies man!! This one those machines that will and has changed entertainment for ever!

I bought my first PS3 (60gb) last fall because I couldn't find any PS2 games that interested me. Blu-Ray was an afterthought... I bought my second PS3 (40gb) because I wanted to watch high-def movies on our new 1080p 40 inch TV in the bedroom.

I was looking for a Blu Ray player. I thought long and hard, but deceided on the PS3 because of the dual capabilities. I don't play a lot of games, but I am into Horror survival games. I'm looking forward to Silent Hill 5.

I got it thinking it would be the only system for the final fantasy series. Even with the changes, I still don't regret it. It's still hands down one of the best purchases that can be made.

I guess I have always been a Playstation user from the very start! I have owned every single console that has the name Playstation.

I always look for quality! I always look for an advantage over a competetors product. Sony to me evokes feelings of quality! I have never had a Sony product fail!

Well I have not been disapointed with the Hardware. Blu-ray is a major bonus but I'm a gamer at heart, MGS4 is reason enough to get a PS3, I mean lets be honest really!

Now I have two PS3s and so far I am very happy.

Im not a fanboy but ive been a playstation supporter since PS1. After checking out the specs ond potential of both HD DVD and Blu, i decided that Blu was the winner in my mind so i had even more reasons to continue my loyalty to playstation. Now it is the media beast of my home and i am thankful.

Blu-ray, Cell Processor,
MGS4, Merc2, Controller,
Gundam Crossfire.

Blu-ray

I admit to this day im a blu-ray fanatic, I feel in love with the technology when it was announced and saw it more for the raw data it could hold, of course thats when studios were showing it off as holding 3 movies etc...

I had decided that blu-ray would replace dvd as a data disc this was my first thought on the use of blu-ray and never any connection to high deffinition.

Cell Processor

I admit I love the cell processor, specifically the technology itself and the fact that it is used in the ps3.

MGS4

Seeing as I easility put hundreds of hours into the originals I saw this as a safe purchase and something to look foward to.

Merc2

In my mind this is the greatest blockbuster that will bless any of the systems this year, I loved the original merc and having a co op merc with my buddy I can only see this happening on a playstation 3, specially since I can not stand the other system controllers, and felt that pc controls would not work right for this game.

Controller

I loved the ds controller of ps2 and fell in love with its conform and how it fit my hand as if it was specially manufactured for me.

Gundam Crossfire

OKAY OKAY I admit it I AM A GUNDAM FANBOY, the previews of it made me drool, and I have beaten this game for the federation once.. its a very hard and stressful game on the harder difficulty levels.

Default Hesitant at first

I was hesitant at first cause Sony mucked up so much and almost lost my support (which it had since PS1 came out).

Then Walmart had this pre-Christmas deal in 07 - buy a PS3, get 10 Blu Rays. I was already craving one for games like Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, and the whenever-it-was-to-be-released MGS4, so this deal was the nail in the coffin for me.

I play games A LOT and the free online is definitely a plus. Never really had much of an issue with the PSN, so I guess I was lucky. I've got less than 35 Blu Rays, but I still enjoy watching movies. It was a hell of a surprise and a powerful system, and is working its way to be one of my favorite systems of all time (I've owned all Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft consoles).

Pretty much the same reasons that I got me my 60GB, just after the price drop and the rumor that production was going to stop on the 20GB/60GB and that the 40GB/80GB were coming. Got me a Nintendo Wii afterwards, and that thing's been gathering dust while the PS3 gets a daily workout

When I got my ps3, all I had was a 9 inch tv, I watched blu-ray movies on that and had a small collection of blu-rays before I even got my HDTV.

Initially it was for Blu Ray and DVD up scaling. It has also gotten me back into gaming after I had taken a few years off.

This. But I usually just load up my MP3s in there, and sometimes DivX movies.
