Like you said before though, I think it's time to abandon the whole concept of video game based movies because they just don't work. You can't even call the genre a one hit wonder as there hasn't been a single good movie to come out of it. Not one has reached a score over 50% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's been failed project after failed project. It's time to put the genre to sleep. |

Yes it sucks, I don't understand what is so hard about it. It's sad because sooo many games had good chances of being good movies but fail horribly. And it goes the other way also, a good movie comes out and they try to rush and make a game for it and it totally blows. I wish I had a chance to make a GOW movie it would violent and unforgiving just like the game and it would blow Avatar outta the water. |

I'm not sure about some of you, but I really want to ask some of you why would you want that guy to direct the movie? I explained in my post why I would pick Terry Zwigoff to direct.
The reason I think many video game movies flop is that they behave like the video games that inspire them; they preach to them. If you pay attention to many action films, even to many loud and fast action films, in comparison they are slow dramas to alot of video games we play. Most video game movies do what they promise, doesn't mean it will please everyone but those that actually play the video games. This is why it's a bad idea to read reviews to video game adapted movies if your reason is to see if it's faithful. Adaptions (including video games) DO NOT need to follow the story to gain appeal, it is the artist decision to present their interpretation of the story, which is why I think Zwigoff is the person to do it. Kind of like Werner Herzog does to other genres, Zwigoff could become a polarizing example to the genre he approaches, in this case video games. |

![]() Djimon Hounsou would be my pick, and David Jaffe himself personally said if they made a God of War film, he would choose him. He can bring the emotional pathos of Kratos more effectively, and he is really buff and sexy (I know that sounds creepy), although he may not be as buff as Schwarzenegger or Diesel (He is a much better actor as a calm friendly person), and Jason Statham doesn't seem to be an angry man that feels pain, and plus why would you pick Sam Worthington? On top of that, the others are all white. |
