The conclusion Ive come too reading this thread is that we need to get all cuts of a release.

All this talk of Amadeus (of which I prefer the extended cut) has me intrigued about the theatrical version. And really we should have both to appreciate each.

I feel the same way about Terminator 2 - I prefer the theatrical as a movie but often like watching the extended. Likewise for Aliens, I think the theatrical is a better movie but I prefer watching the Special Edition.

Give us all cuts of movies!!

Terminator 2 with DTS MA 7.1 (Ultimate Edition)
Aliens Directors Cut
Lethal Weapon 1,2 Directors Cut with Dolby True HD

Mulholland Drive without the blurring effect, if you have read about it on the net you'll know and if you have seen it you may know.

Agreed! - and throw in the original TV Pilot version (of Mulholland Drive) as well.

like what Speilberg did with Close Encounters. All seamless branched... That is a perfect blu-ray set.

Star Wars...Original and Unaltered except for a restoration so they look their best. I will not buy the new versions on Blu.

I need the dirty version of Twice Upon a Time. It is my home video holy grail. Seeing it on HBO when I was a kid was life changing.

For the record, the Renegade Version has since been replaced by the Special Edition. It's not just the same movie with more extra features. It's a new (and final?) cut of the movie. Definitely the best version available, though still far from great (for the obvious reasons). I enjoy watching it every now and then.

The 3 hour version of Superman: The Movie. I have it on bootleg VHS.

I also have the extended cut of Superman II. The Donner Cut was just ridiculous.

I want the extended cut of The Empire Strikes Back. Although I believe the Wamp invading the base scene was not actually filmed, parts of it were because one shot shows up in the trailer .C-3PO taking the "do not open" sign off of a room where a captured Wampa is being held. The following scene is of snowtroopers opening that door and being attacked by the Wampa.

I wouldnt mind seeing the premiere release of Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The first screening was deemed to long by critics and Kubrick snipped 20 mins out. Dont know if it was better or more 'correct' but Id love to see it.

Also:

Conan the Barbarian: International Release (far preferable to the USA theatrical)

Wild at Heart: Original Australian release (with the bathroom scene and without the smoke/flare censorship)

Eastern Promises: International Release (with more blood, and no it doesn't seem like we are getting this next year)

Malena: Italian release (with more topless Monica Belucci)

Saw 1/2

Both were the theatrical cuts.. and not the damn unrated and extended versions which pissed me off .. plus pq/aq needed major improvements.. and extras.
