i've had it some time now, and it's definately one of the best blu-rays i've seen. the transfer is awesome and the shots tim uses is absolutely magnificent. impressive voice on the cool fella as well

I'll be double dipping into this (have it on DVD). Though I just have to figure out whether I should wait till Christmas to get it or just pick it up when it comes out. Does anyone know if the $10 rebate will still be available then?

I have had my copy since June 08 (ordered from amazon.uk.co). It is one of my favorite blu rays. The UK version came in a steel tin.

I also got the steelbook whenever it came out a while ago imported from the UK. Great quality, I'm assuming the US version is the same transfer?

U.S version will be a different encode. High bit rate AVC + 24-bit Dolby TrueHD + 2 special features in HD (which was presented in SD on the import).

only available on dvd in the U.S. right now but very shortly coming to blu-ray

yes it will be unless its for a very short run which i kind of doubt but of course it is a highly anticipated title so cant really give you a guarantee if stores will still have it in stock or if you should just order online with this whole Christmas season coming up and plus Black Friday also coming up as well but hopefully they will make a lot of copies

I have the $10 rebate form from my "Transformers" Blu-ray (don't have the DVD, may have to pick one up used for <$10, w/POP tab of course!) and the offer is good through 12/31/2009!!!

As for the "Sweeney Todd" Blu-ray, I'm kind of miffed that Amazon.com STILL wants $27.99 for it (and Tower.com STILL does not list it!?!)! I'm sure 'Best Buy' or 'Target' will match or beat it. What I am most interested in though (ever since holding off on pre-ordering "Iron Man" when I heard of the special "mask" case Target had, and I picked up) is whether or not any B&M stores will be offering a "Sweeney Todd" with special case or extras not found in other stores or on-line? Anyone here hear anything? Please post it if you do.

I also noticed that Amazon has been lowering the prices on some A-list Blu-rays only days or weeks after the street date, thus (seemingly) penalizing those who pre-ordered and paid the higher price. WTF????

I found a copy of this and the incredible hulk at wal-mart yesterday.... they had it out early for some reason but i decided to go with sweeney!!!! I havent watched the blu version yet but will do so today and post a rating on it!!!! Hopefully the quality is great!!!! i really loved this movie
