not really, i'm pretty selective on movies i buy anyway. i don't buy everthing that comes out anymore, just "must haves" like The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Matrix Trilogy, and The Incredible Hulk.

Never been buying much on this department to be honest as I am rather selective. I can still afford the occasional purchase despite the financial crisis.

Nope. If anything pricing itself is the kicker for me. I was buying way more during all the sales before hd-dvd tanked. The bogos/sales were better back then (for obvious reasons). However, I don't yearn for those days if it means the return of the format war. I've been pretty selective since.

I don't buy too many BDs (Ironman and Wanted are still must-haves, waiting for Ironman to go on sale again), but I just bought a Samsung LN40A650 for $1300. That's definitely not an "economy is crashing" sale. I also plan on putting money in the stock market here real soon, too

I work for an automotive supplier, so I'm saving as much as I can in case of a layoff early next year. However, I will be picking up The Final Countdown, and Band Of Brothers.

Nope, still just as irresponsible as ever! With this $10 off blu-ray coupon at Best Buy, I've bought like 6 new movies already, and plan on picking a few more up on Tuesday.

In the 14 months of owning blu-ray I have bought 30+ titles. Took me several years to match that on DVD.

I have stopped buying "filler titles" to contend me until I get the movies I really want. Patience is truly a virtue. Plus I stopped torturing myself waiting on titles with no release date. (Disney, I'm looking at you and Finding Nemo.) I figure by Christmas time next year I will have most of my favorites.

We have been buying a little more lately just because we can buy BD and stay home and watch them and save alot more money than going out to eat thern to a movie and popcorn and all that goes with it.

No, the economy hasn't affected my blu-ray purchases but at some point, the upcoming holidays probably will (since part of my disposable income will go toward gifts).

Nope. I've been budgeting my money since Clinton was in office, so the economy really hasn't affected me. Plus I work in online advertising, and we're growing more and more everyday. I still buy the Blu Rays I really want and an occasional blind buy.

Same here. This is why I always tell everyone that although I don't expect anything, if you do decide to get me something make it an Amazon, Fry's, Best Buy, etc., gift certificate and nothing else. I've also the last couple of years made a point of buying the majority of gifts from Best Buy where I can at least accumulate rewardzone points. This way I'll get some return that I can put back into Blu's.

I think the people that this affects, are those that probably could barely afford it to begin with. I personally have not curbed any spending due to the economy. I am actually spending more to help BOOST IT! Everyone should be doing this. Not spending less, but MORE!

I never really liked hearing how people have to give up going out to eat because of this or that or blah blah. Maybe I am not sensitive but umm.. boohoo? At least you have a house, car and a job. If you don't have one of those, then I feel for you.
