Just because ONE Actor "believes" there won't be a 4th JP, doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. Until we hear a definitive "No, the series is over" from the likes of a Steven Spielberg, then the point is moot. It "could" happen, it might not.

Part of me really wants a fourth film and part of me doesn't.

I think it'd great to see a fourth one with another billionaire trying to rebuild Jurassic Park, so to start off the series again. But at the same time, more than a decade down the line it would seem too much of rehash to do anymore films, and it would be nice to just leave the original trilogy alone.

So I do also get the feeling JP 4 won't have the go ahead and in many ways or the better.

At the rate Hollyremake -- I mean Hollyreboot -- dang it. Hollywood -- is going, we'll see a "new and improved" Jurassic Park in 5 to 7 years.

It doesn't really get bigger than Spinosaurus, so where can they go with it now?

I actually didn't really like the Spinosaurus, so bigger doesn't equal better. I thought the T-Rex had a lot more personality as the big bad dinosaur. Also, the practical Spino- looked pretty bad to me.

I would be fine with brand new characters in a brand new story. How many times can we trick Dr. Grant into getting on an island with dinosaurs? Though, I wouldn't want a re-adaptation of the first book. While the movie cut out a lot of the genius of the book, it is still a somewhat close adaptation, close enough that a re-adaptation would look very similar.

Default Jurassic Park 4

Steven Spielberg Brainstorming 'Jurassic Park 4'
with Writer Mark Protosevich

Quote:
Steven Spielberg has dinosaurs back on the brain lately. In addition to the impending launch of the television series Terra Nova on Fox in the fall, Spielberg has been meeting with screenwriter Mark Protosevich to kick around ideas for how to re-boot the Jurassic Park franchise.

Several years ago, the Oscar-winning director worked with Protosevich on a potential remake of Chan-wook Park's Oldboy that was to star Will Smith. That film ran into rights problems and didn't come to fruition, but Spielberg, who directed the first two Jurassic Park films and was an executive producer on the third, has since met twice with Protosevich to fashion a story for a potential fourth film in the franchise.

Gotta say I'm really excited at the idea of a new Jurassic Park trilogy or a one off and can't wait to see what Spielberg has in mind.

Here's the original thread.

Please make the dinosaurs more realistic. Even the ones in kong kong looked too cgi-ish

Maybe I'm asking for too much

I can see Spielberg producing, but probably not directing. I would like to see a new JP movie or series if only because they can be entertaining films. I can't imagine a film topping the first though.

I agree about the CGI. I don't know how the VFX got worse with each progressive film.

Sounds good to me, whether he Produces or Directs, though I'd rather he Directed (unlikely, IMO)

I hope it's a "re-boot", although I don't like that phrase - It seems to be the flavor of the day these days for when a series gets new writers/directors/cast, a few years down the road. "Let's do a Re-Boot!"

I'd rather they start an entire new Trilogy, vice just a one-off film.

Yeah I would love to see the 4th film start a new trilogy. Reboot sounds good for this series as I don't know how they could do a 4th one and connect it to the first 3 somehow.

I bet they do a reboot of sorts... it's time... and technology has improved enough for them to really do it well.

For some reason I have the feeling this will be a lot like the recent fourth film in the Indiana Jones franchise, I hope Spielberg proves me wrong.

Well, he won't have George Lucas insisting on his vision this time .

Just kidding, of course.

LOL

If anyone watched the special features on IJ4, you would know that was exactly the case. I'm hopefully for a JP reboot of sorts.
