Logitech Harmony Remotes Owners - Page 4 - Blu-ray Forum

Need help deciding which Harmony to get. I have a small set up and will be controlling my HDTV, Onkyo 605, and Directv HD DVR (HR20). I am on a budget and have to get from Amazon (gift card) so my choices are:

720 $89.99
550 $73.64
520 $38.50

Obviously the 720 is superior to the other 2, but is it worth the extra $ for a color screen and rechargeability?

I think it's definitely worth $17 to get those 2 extras, just make sure it's not a refurbished unit. Amazon sells quite a few of those, and $90 seems like a "too good to be true" price for the 720.

ugh! just had my harmony 550 crap out on me! this is the 3rd one i have had that has suffered the same fate! the LCD screen has crapped out. the screen is now just a bunch of broken lines! Nothing happened to it, always well taken care of, just picked it up and it was busted!

I will never buy a harmony remote again, well nothing from the 500 series at least! Anyone know of good deal on the 880??? or maybe a different brand

Where did you buy it from? Get your next one from Best Buy because their replacement plan is for two years, and it only cost ten dollars. That is, if you can find it on sale at Best Buy.

i got it from amazon like 13 months ago....still it is the 3rd one that has done me like this, same problem! design flaw?

Call up Logitech... they have one of the best warranties I've ever seen. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent you another one free of charge.

I got my 880 off amazon for $120 (brand new). No problems whatsoever.

i may have to do this, remote still works but it is pretty pointless without the lcd screen

yeah i saw the 720, looks pretty slick, especially for the price. I just emailed logitech support to see what they have to say about it

500's are a decent remote, does everything i need it to! Does not have a color screen, has green screen with black text, but the setup and operation is similar across the board i think! I still think there is a design flaw with the 500 series though, however it is great when it works

I can't seem to find it now, but he had two go out on him. I just kept getting a free replacement though.

well that's cool! Maybe i will get the same treatment from Logitech! That would be nice! The first one i had go out on me was a 520, then the 550 and now the 550 again! very frustrating indeed

I've had the XBox Harmony... which is a 500 series with some XBox specific buttons on it..... for well over a year now.... so far so good. Same with the 550 I have in my game room and the 550 I bought for my mother. Unlucky maybe?
